b) Using the resources carefully and giving them time to get renewed is
called resource conservation. As a youth of the nation, here's how I
would help in conserving resources by :-
1. Saving energy and water at home by turning off unused
lights/electronics, taking short showers, etc.
2. Using the 3R’s i.e. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle as much as possible
to cut down on waste and preserve materials.
3. Spread awareness about conservation's importance through posters,
talks or social media to encourage more people to use resources
carefully.

C. 5 MARKER QUESTIONS
a) i. The practice of surveying became common practice under the
colonial administration because the British believed that a country had to
be properly known before it could be effectively administered.
ii. • Revenue surveys were conducted in villages in order to know the
topography, the quality of soil, flora, fauna, cropping pattern, etc.
• By the end of the 19th century, Population survey or censuses of all the
Indian provinces were being carried out every ten years. This helped to
collect information on the religion, caste and occupation of the people.
b) The Constitution of India guarantees several fundamental rights
to its citizens. They are:-
1. Right to Equality: This right ensures that all citizens are equal before
the law, and there is no discrimination on the grounds of religion, race,
caste, sex or place of birth.
2. Right to Freedom: This includes freedom of speech and expression,
freedom to form associations or unions, freedom to travel within India,
freedom to reside and settle in any part of the country and freedom to
practice any profession or occupation.
3. Right against Exploitation: This right prohibits human trafficking,
forced labor and the employment of children below the age of 14 years
in hazardous occupations.
4. Right to Freedom of Religion: This right gives freedom to each
individual to profess, practice, and propagate any religion of their
choice.
5. Cultural and Educational Rights: These rights protect the rights of
minorities to preserve their language, script, and culture, and the right of
all citizens to receive education in their mother tongue at the primary
level.
6. Right to Constitutional Remedies: This right allows citizens to
approach the Supreme Court or High Courts for the enforcement of their
fundamental rights.

1. TERRIRTORY RULED BY TIPU SULTAN
Tipu Sultan ruled the Kingdom of Mysore which was located in southern
India. His capital was Seringapatam, a well-fortified city. Under Tipu's
reign, Mysore covered areas that are now parts of the states of
Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh. Some key cities
like Bengaluru, Mangaluru, and Coimbatore were part of his kingdom.
Tipu expanded Mysore's borders through military conquests against the
Marathas, Nizams, and British. He was an innovative ruler who
modernized his army and administration. However, his bitter resistance
against the British East India Company eventually led to his downfall
and death in 1799 after the Siege of Seringapatam.

2. Place where a battle was fought Siraj Ud Daulah and East India
Company.
The famous Battle of Plassey took place in 1757 at Plassey, which is
now a place called Palashi in West Bengal, India. It was fought between
the Nawab of Bengal, Siraj Ud Daulah, and the British East India
Company's forces. The battleground was a mango grove near the village
of Palashi, close to the banks of the Bhagirathi River. This small area
witnessed a major turning point as the British, under Robert Clive,
defeated Siraj's larger army. The victory gave the East India Company
control over Bengal and marked the start of their dominance across
India. Plassey became hugely significant in colonial history.
