MK211x – Digital Marketing Strategy

Week 1

Professor: I am just taking you back when you founded the company along
with other people. As a chairman, you had this idea that people can take,
organizations can take better decisions and at that point of time you had an
idea and you saw a gap, how did you convert that into a group which gets
motivated, comes together, and you have a team of almost 40 people now and
then create an organization, get investors to invest in it and all those.

Roger: Yeah. I have to admit again, I am working with the co-founders and they
know them, since they started the company, but I was not one originally having
the idea, but, see, India is famous for a lot including their advancements in the
space sector and what we call today, the new space sector, a lot of things, a
lot of innovation has come from India or from Indians working abroad having
had their training here in India before. And if what we actually did was just
looking into the future, trying to understand the evolution of the space sector,
try to understand what does this mean actually know a few years back, what
does it mean for today and maybe in five years and what kind of opportunities
of these new technologies of these new approach on how you can leverage
satellite data altogether? What kind of solutions can be offered to actually
improve decision making? So again, for us, decision intelligence is a
philosophy. We just use and scan for new technologies that help us to help our
clients to make better decisions. It is a very broad approach. I know, but this is
exactly how we function as a group. And this is also the people we attract. We
have a few specialists, but we also have a few really brilliant guys that are not
only good at it remote sensing, but we do a lot of data integration. Any client that
we work with, we normally come in via our innovations in remote sensing, but
they are suddenly realizing very quickly say, hey, you guys are much more
than just that, you guys really help us to whatever we have in terms of decision
making challenges, you can help us out of your technology ecosystem, which
I'm responsible for to a certain degree. What else can we use, which other
technologies, which other new innovations along data gathering, data
transmission, data analytics, storing or visualization, could you bring to the
table, put it together into solutions so that we are more effective and more
efficient in our own decision making, whatever that be.
