Abstract:
This paper investigates the evolving landscape of virtual reality (VR) technology
and its potential impact on mental health. With advancements in VR technology, its
applications extend beyond gaming and entertainment to therapeutic interventions
for mental health disorders. This paper reviews existing literature to examine the
efficacy of VR-based interventions in treating various mental health conditions,
including anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), phobias,
depression, and schizophrenia. Additionally, it explores the mechanisms underlying
VR's therapeutic effects, potential limitations, and future directions for research
and clinical implementation. Through a multidisciplinary lens, this paper provides
