Q2 The Breadth and length of a rectangular sheet of paper are 10cm and 20cm, respectively. A rectangular
piece is cut from the sheet, as shown in the figure given below. Which of the following statements is
correct for the present remaining sheet?

(i) Perimeter remains the same but the area changes.

(ii) Area remains the same but the perimeter changes.

(iii) Both Area and Perimeter are changing accordingly

Q3 In class A of total 25 students, 20 passed with 60% or more marks; in class B, of total 30 students, 24
passed with 60% or more marks. Calculate in which class was a greater fraction of students getting
60% or more marks.

Q4 Ramesh had 20 pencils, whereas Sheelu had 50 pencils, and Jamaal had 80 pencils. After four months,
Ramesh used up ten pencils, Sheelu also used up 25 pencils, and Jamaal also used up 40 pencils. What
fraction did each of them use up? Check if each of them has used up an equal fraction of her/his
pencils.

Q5 Nandini’s house is about 9 / 10 km from her school. She walked some distance towards her school
and then took a bus for 1 / 2 km to reach the school. How far did she walk?

Q6 A small piece of wire 7 / 8 metre long broke into two pieces. One piece is 1 / 4 metre long. How long
is the other piece?

Q16 The present age of the father is 42 (forty-two) years, and that of his son is 14 years. Hence Find the
ratio of

(i) Present age of the father to the present age of the son

(ii) Age of the father to the age of his son, when the son was 12 years old.

(iii) Age of the father to the age of the son after 10 (ten) years.

(iv) Age of the father to the age of his son, when the father was 30 (thirty) years old, will be.

Q22 Mother has made tasty laddus. She gives some laddus to the guests and family members. Still, five
laddus remain in the end. If the total number of laddus mother gave away is l6, how many total laddus
did she make?

Q23 Oranges are to be transferred from a few larger boxes into some smaller boxes. When one large box
is emptied, the oranges from it fill two smaller boxes, and still, ten oranges are left outside. If the total
number of oranges in a small box is taken to be x, what is the total number of oranges in the larger
box?

Q24 If the perimeter of a regular hexagon is x metres, then the length of each of its sides is
