ACTORS PRIMER
KEYS TO PEACE IN
MOZAMBIQUE
Paths to Peace (CaPaZ)
Collaboration: Hélio Mutombene, Ester Pedro Uamba, Anica Pedro and Aguinaldo Dos
Santos Rufino.
Using the 3WAY approach, ORPHAD as part of its actions, especially to strengthen social co-
hesion, has been supporting the improvement of a favorable and safe environment for action
of civil society through strengthening the coordination, articulation, co-operation, subsidies
and COHESION capabilities of CSOs and raising the LEVEL OF CITIZENSHIP OF CSO
CIVIC ACTORS.
To this end, ORPHAD has been coordinating actions: (a) National Level: National Network of
District and Thematic Platforms of the Mozambican Civil Society (RNPD) that brings together:
(a1)) Regional Level Forums and/or Regional Civic Movements such as (i) AWONA-NORTE,
(ii) Gender Move, (iii) Caring Youth, (iv) Global Digital, (v) Natural Disaster Observatory
and Emergency-ONDE, (vi) Save Kids.
(a2) District Level: More than 124 District Platforms (formal and informal).
(a3) Municipal Level: More than 12 Municipal Forums. AND,
(a4) Community Level: More than 79 Community Engagement Groups/Peace Animators
Community (GEC’s), Recognized and Legitimized with governmental authority (Government,
Municipality, government and PRM).
ORPHAD also organized a PEACE FORUM as a space for Permanent, Inclusive and Plural
Dialogue and Concertation where all PRIMARY ACTORS/KEY PEACE BUILDING, SOCIAL
COHESION AND DEVELOPMENT IN MOZAMBIQUE:
(i) Share experiences, paths and models for building, consolidating and maintaining Peace,
Reconciliation, Social Cohesion and Development in Mozambique; (ii) Share opportunities for
knowledge production and dissemination of evidence-based information;
(iii) Discuss and create Consensus on Plans, Journeys, Agendas and Support Strategies
to Pacification, Security, National Reconciliation, Social Cohesion and Development Efforts in
Mozambique. AND,
(v) Discuss the best national and international resource mobilization mechanisms and financ-
ing of the Acts of Peace in Mozambique. For the success of this noble mission of construction
of Paths to Peace (CaPaz), ORPHAD has been working with PRIMARY AND KEY ACTS IN
PEACE BUILDING IN MOZAZBIQUE.
This Primer of Key Actors of Peace in Mozambique essentially aims to map, systematize and
publicize the key actors and their key thinking, that is, leave indelible a key message of an act
of Peace carried out by each person, in one of the actions in cooperation with ORPHAD, on
the path to seeking effective and lasting Peace.
