• DG Rakesh Pal, DG of Indian Coast Guard, and the Chairman NOSDCP reviewed the
preparedness of all agencies during the exercise.

• The Nepal Army contingent comprising of 334 personnel arrived in India to participate in 17th
edition of Joint Military Exercise SURYA KIRAN.
• The exercise will be conducted in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand from 24th November to 07th

• It is an annual event and conducted alternatively in the two countries.
Inter Command Ocean Sailing Race flagged off at Kochi
• The 2nd edition of the Inter Command Ocean Sailing Race is flagged off from Kochi by Indian
Navy.
• This edition's race, featuring a mixed-gender crew, symbolises gender neutrality and equal
opportunity with 32 participants vying for the title in the challenging Arabian Sea.
• The race is set to demonstrate the participants' seamanship and navigational skills on a 360 nm

• The Indian Armed Forces contingent comprising of 81 personnel departed for Australia to take

Saab's becomes first foreign defence company to get 100% FDI nod
• In a landmark development, Swedish defence giant Saab has achieved a significant milestone by

approval for a defence project in India.
• Saab has been given the green light to establish a new manufacturing facility in India, which will
focus on producing shoulder-fired rockets.
Army Aviation to phase out Cheetah, Chetak helicopters from 2027
• The Army Aviation Corps is currently operating around 190 Chetak, Cheetah and Cheetal
helicopters which were introduced in 1976-1977.
• Thus the helicopters require immediate modernization.
• Induction of around 100 light utility helicopters (LUH) is planned for replacement.
• Leasing additional helicopters is also under consideration to meet operational needs.

• The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has proposed uniform Cyber Security and
Management Systems provisions for certain categories of four-wheelers, passenger and
commercial vehicles to protect their functions from cyber threats.
• MoRTH said that the application for approval of a vehicle type with regard to cyber security shall
be submitted by the vehicle manufacturer.
Economic offenders should not be handcuffed, says parliamentary panel
• The parliamentary committee suggested changes to the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita
(BNSS), stating that economic offenders should not be included in the category of individuals who
can be handcuffed.
• They should not be clubbed with those arrested for heinous crimes such as rape and murder, the
committee said.
‘AAINA Dashboard for Cities’ portal launched by MoHUA, GoI
