Presentation of Assignment

You are required as a team to carry out a spoken presentation (10 minutes - including a
demonstration of your database - and produce a written report to support this.

You should ideally be in a group of THREE or FOUR students. Discuss first with your tutor if you
wish to form a group of a different size.

The team report should be combined together with the individual reports and submitted to the
ESOFT ICMS on or before the given deadline.
The team report should be combined together with the individual reports and handed (Soft-copy) to
the workshop tutor at the end of your group presentation.

The names and student London Met ID numbers of all members of the team should be printed on the
front (title) page of the report. Each member should sign against his/her details to confirm that they
are correct.

Each page of the team part of the report should be initialed by every team member as 'Checked and
agreed'

Every page of the individual part of the report should be headed with the author’s name/id.

The softcopy of the documentation should be submitted on or before the given deadline according to
the given instructions by the course administration.

DATABASE APPLICATION
Full documentation –softcopy of the database application should be provided – tables, SQL scripts,
printed reports, screenshots, etc.

Requirements outline

1. Organization chart
(Suggested length: up to 3 pages, 1 page diagram and two page description)

Provide a clear diagram indicating the details of each member of the staff, including the staff id,
name, job title and to whom they report. There should be supporting text describing key
features of the organization chart, including any changes/corrections required to the data
provided. You can use some external for the staff members with assumptions if necessary.

2. Current Position Analysis


(Up to 5 pages)
Provide a brief analysis of the current business situation. Include one or more recognized strategic
planning technique(s)
• Develop company vision
• Develop company mission statements at least 3 mission statements
• Conduct SWOT analysis
• Identify BCG location based on above SWOT analysis of the organization and recognized
suitable strategic plan to follow based on the current position of BCG matrix location
• Use any suitable strategic planning technique and see how those techniques results are aligned
with previous analysis or explain why if it is not aligned.
• Do analysis of porters three generic competitive strategies and identify advantages and
disadvantages each strategy and pick suitable one or combination with justification

3.Requirements Specification and Design (Operational system) (suggested length: 12 pages)

 Identify functional and nonfunctional requirements


 Database design and implementation
o Identify the data requirement for the operational system
o Create ER diagram based on the above requirement
o Construct normalized table structure up to 3NF
 Construct following design diagrams
o Create Use case diagram
o Class diagram
o Three sequence and three activity diagram for three prominent workflows
o State diagram for three prominent classes
o Component and deployment diagrams if applicable

4.Outline Management Decisions and rationale for each decision (6 pages)

Identify a number of important management decisions that could be informed by information from
Integrated System for Lock Hood Lock Manufacturing Company. (You should identify Two decisions
for each member of your group).

5. Conclusion

Provide a coherent critique of the development process you have undertaken (what you have done
well, what you could have done better, etc.) and of the application you have developed (what is good
about it, what needs improving, etc.).

Software, Test Plan, Results

1. Create Database tables in accordance with your ERD and populate these with the firm’s
data.

3. Produce a test plan for the full application (i.e. all queries) and a test log indicating the actual
results for the completed version. This is should be complemented by screen shots of the relevant
code, query and results. If there are any errors these should be commented.

marks) Provide a brief, clear outline of what each team member contributed to the project.
2. Create a commercial level application module for any department with proper layering and
modularized based on the designs made in the group report
3. Create test plan above application for cover all workflows
4. Identify the important metrics to define the objective for the above department.
5. Define acceptable KPIs and Benchmarks to satisfy above objectives.
