Câu hỏi đuôi (Tag Question)

Câu hỏi đuôi (Tag Question) là một câu hỏi ngắn dạng Yes/No được cuối câu và ngăn cách với mệnh
đề chính bởi một dấu phẩy. Tác dụng của nó là để xác nhận lại những điều người nói vừa nhắc đến là
đúng hay sai.
VD:
Today is a good day, isn’t it? (Hôm nay trời thật đẹp phải không?)
His students are playing in class, aren’t they? (Học sinh của anh ấy đang chơi ở trong lớp phải không?)

VD:
John drives a new car to work, doesn’t he? (John lái một chiếc xe mới đến nơi làm việc đúng không?)
We have traveled to Vietnam twice in the last 10 years, haven’t we? (Chúng ta đã du lịch đến Việt Nam

Lưu ý: Khi mệnh đề chính sử dụng đại từ nhân xưng là “I” với động từ tobe “Am” ở dạng khẳng định “I
am”, thì câu hỏi đuôi phải là “Aren’t I”. Còn ở dạng phủ định “I am not” thì câu hỏi đuôi là “Am I” bình
thường.

I am your best friend, aren’t I? (Tôi là bạn thân của bạn đúng không?)
You are not an office worker, are you? (Tôi không phải là viên văn phòng phải không?)
