Operation of PCS 3.0
1. Load the bucket, fully rack-back, and settle the material
in the bucket, below the start of weigh range.
2. Smoothly pull the lift lever into the raise detent position.
Maintain a comfortable and consistent operating speed,
as the material is being weighed and allow the lift arms
to rise to kickout height.
Note: While the material weight is calculated, the
display will show four asterisks on the top line. After
traveling thru the weigh range, the top line of the display
will show the weight of the material in the bucket and
the bottom line of the display will show the total amount
of material that has been loaded into the truck.

Weigh Ranges
PCS 3.0 Guidelines for Best Accuracy:
• Keep front linkage pins well-lubricated
• Warm the hydraulics and exercise the front linkage
pins (minimum of three lifts), before using PCS to load
trucks
• Place the Ride Control in Auto or Off
• Set the raise kickout at least 10% above the end of
PCS weigh range
• Lift on level ground
• Settle material in the bucket, especially on partial
bucket loads
• Fully rack back the bucket when weighing material
3. After weighing is completed, dump the bucket load into
the truck. Continue this process until the truck is full.
4. To load the next truck, press the STORE switch to reset
the display and store the payload information into
memory. Press the CLEAR/ZERO switch to reset the
display without storing the payload information into
memory.

• Maintain a constant and consistent engine speed for
each lift
• Maintain a constant lift speed by using the raise detent
• Avoid change in machine direction while weighing
• Minimize the amount of spilled material prior to and
after weighing
• Reweigh the payload when prompted
• Re-zero as soon as possible when prompted
• Use consistent bucket loads when multi-pass loading
• Avoid build-up of material in the bucket

PCS 3.0 Buttons and Switches

Store - Press and release the STORE switch in order to store the following payload information into
memory: Truck Weight, Truck ID and Material ID, Operator ID, Ticket Number, Loader pass count, and
Timestamp. The STORE switch also resets the bucket and truck weights to zero.

Reweigh - Allows a bucket to be weighed due to a reweigh message or after changing the amount of
material in the bucket.
1. Adjust the amount of material in the bucket if necessary.
2. Press and release the REWEIGH switch, the last bucket weight will be subtracted from the truck total.
3. Lower the bucket below the start of weigh.
4. Repeat the weighing process.
5. The new bucket weight will be shown on the display and added to the truck total.

Clear - Press and release the CLEAR/ZERO switch to reset the bucket and truck weights.
Zero - Helps improve accuracy due to bucket wear, material buildup, and hydraulic oil temperature
fluctuations.
1. Perform a zero when the current truck is empty.
2. Shake excess material from the bucket and lower the bucket to the ground.
3. Rack the empty bucket back and perform a lift at normal operating engine RPMs.
4. Press and hold the CLEAR/ZERO switch until the “Zero Accepted” message is displayed.

Enter Weigh Mode - Press the UP/Left and Down/Right buttons simultaneously to enter the weigh mode
from any menu or screen.

Enter/Exit Standby Mode - Press the Down/Right and OK buttons simultaneously in weigh mode to
enter standby mode. Press the Down/Right and OK buttons simultaneously in standby mode to enter
weigh mode.

Reweigh and Zero Messages

Reweigh and zero messages are shown on the display in
order to inform the operator of the need to reweigh or zero
the bucket for best accuracy. Reweigh messages will be
displayed immediately after the bucket has been weighed.
Following the Reweigh and Zero procedure, when
requested, ensures the best accuracy. Reweigh and Zero
messages can be cleared from the display by pressing the
OK button.

Reweigh Messages
• Weigh Without Stopping – Lift Stopped During Weigh
Occurs if the bucket stops moving in the Weigh Range.
• Weigh Without Shifting – Lift Pressure Change During
Weigh
Occurs if a spike in lift pressure is sensed in the
hydraulic system. For example, if the machine direction
is changed while the bucket is in the weigh range.
• Weigh on Level Ground – Machine Pitched\Bucket
Tilted
Occurs if the bucket was not fully racked back while the
bucket was in the weigh range or if the machine was not
on a flat surface.
• Weigh at Higher RPM – Lift Too Slow to Weigh
Occurs if a lift was performed too slowly.
• Keep Constant RPM – Excessive Lift Speed Change
Occurs if the motion of the machine causes pressure
spikes or if the throttle is released during the weighing
process.
• Reweigh Using Detent – Lift Too Jerky During Weigh
Occurs if the engine speed or the lift speed changes
while the bucket is in the Weigh Range.
Zero Messages
• Perform Zero – Zero Timer Expired
Occurs if the machine has been running for more than
5 minutes or more than 4 hours have passed since PCS
has been zeroed.
• Perform Zero – Hydraulic Oil Temp Changed
Occurs if a change in oil temperature is measured,
more than 50 deg F (10 deg C), since the previous zero
was performed.
• Shake Out Bucket – Weight Too Heavy to Zero
Occurs if a zero was attempted and there was more or
less than 15% of the calibration weight in the bucket.
