EEE 101 –ELECTRONICS I
LAB. PROJECT
INSTRUCTIONS:

The project is to be presented by 5 member groups in power point on the day of electronics lab I
examination.

The project will cover 33.33% of Electrical Engineering Lab I

Group members will be scored individually by the accessors during the presentation

The design process should be step by step, displaying diagrams, wave forms, calculations and
analysis in a chronological order.

Scores will be based on the group’s ability to design the power unit according to the
specifications, appropriate visuals and calculation where needed and design analysis or
explanations.

Project:

Design a 100 V D.C power supply unit needed for the supply of D.C power to electronic
consoles used at the Electrical/ Electronic Laboratory for Experimentations. The available A.C
supply from the socket outlet in the laboratory is 240 V.

Procedure:

1. Choose a suitable Transformer with an appropriate transformation ratio for the project
2. Use a full wave bridge rectifier and consider the practical model of diodes in your design
3. A ripple factor not more than 3% can be tolerated
4. Use an appropriate Zener as a regulator
