INTRODUCTION Occidental of Oman Inc. upgrades carbon steel pipeline network with HDPE lining for Produced water injection distribution network. The pipeline location for HOPE lining are in Sultanate of Oman with projects sites in Wadi Aswad, Wadi Latham and Safah for various size carbon steel pipes of diameter 20”, 16”, 12”, 10”, 8", 6” and 4” pipelines. Occidental of Oman is the client, Al- Ghalbi Engineering & Contracting L.L.C is the main contractor and Anticorrosion Protective Systems Est. is the sub-contractor for HDPE lining of carbon steel pipelines. 2. PURPOSE ‘The purpose of this document is to provide the methods and procedure to be followed for conducting a bend test on a sample of HDPE strap to provide a sound HDPE butt fusion welding. ae BEND TEST PROCEDURE ay oS awe 3. BEND TEST PROCEDURE 5.1 VISUAL INSPECTION & CUTTING OF STRAPS u Prior to go ahead and cut test straps, the _butt fused welded joint is to be visually inspected and one once the butt fusion welded joints visually inspected. All welded joints shall be visually inspected for visual defects prior to bend test as indicated in ASTM F 2620-13. Test strap are selected from the butt fused joints and test samples are cut off in transverse to the weld from different weld locations as indicate in below figure. | a Internal bead shall be removed once the test samples are cut off to the required dimensions. oc no: 1280187:306 neveo oxy BEND TEST PROCEDURE DoS “4 5.2.2.
