3. Insufficient Preparation

Dyslexia – is a reading disorder. This is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading due to
problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words (decoding).

Facts: most common of all neuro-cognitive disorders.

Four TIPS in effectively getting content across.

1. Approach

As a DJ: Approach Public Speaking in an open way; take it as an opportunity to share your thoughts and
experiences.

As a Writer: Know your DJs and imagine them saying the lines.

2. Audience

As a DJ: Try to check their knowledge, attitude and expectations. Consider their level of understanding.

Always remember that it’s not what you want to say, it’s what they need to hear.

3. Context

- the circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea, and in terms of which it can
be fully understood and assessed. Keyword: LIMITS, SCOPE, CIRCUMSTANCE.

As a DJ: Must know.

As a Writer: Must make clear.

4. Structure

Presentation is very important. Yung tipong ipresent mo sa paraan na maintindihan nila.

Organize your thoughts and deliver them properly. Try using techniques like Past – Present – Future,
Problem – Solution - Benefit, What – So What – Now What and Mind Mapping Techniques.

Don’t lose your audience by giving them scattered ideas.

You can take it as simple as you’re telling them a story. Basic Story structure: Intro, Problem/Conflict,
Resolution.
