REQUEST FOR DHOC STABLE AUTHORITY IN ORDER TO


UTILISE SANDF TRANSPORT BEFORE AND AFTER HOURS AS
WELL AS BETWEEN RESIDENCE AND WORKPLACE

1. In terms of DoD Instruction/LOG/2/98 I, No: 03025707MC Rank: Capt. Name: T.Z.


Thulo, hereby apply to utilise military vehicle with registration number JW 55 TY GP_ for
the execution officially transporting of DGI personnel from SADIC to Baviaanspoort
(Pretoria East) via Philipnel and Akasia on a daily basis.

3. Single trip distance between above mentioned address and place of work is
approximately 72km.

4. Period for which stable authority is required (Period for the execution of the task as
specified in par 1).
From: 20/08/2023 till 27/10/2023

5. I confirm that the following conditions as stipulated within the JWM 203 will be
strictly adhered to:

a. SANDF vehicles must be garaged at one of the following locations during the
day, overnight, over weekends and on public holidays.

i. With a SANDF security area.


ii. Within fenced and guarded plots or terrain.
iii. Inside a garage that can be securely locked.

b. A military vehicle may be garaged in a fenced private property, the gate of


which is locked and where the vehicle is parked out of sight. The driver
must take every reasonable precaution to discourage and/or to prevent theft.
The above mentioned condition does not apply to flats which do not have
garaging facilities. Military vehicles may only be garaged at a complex if
lockup garages are available. I have the necessary knowledge of the
following provisions as stipulated within DoD Instruction/LOG/2/98 dated
17 July 1998.

6. The use of departmental transport for the purpose of performing early and/or late
duty, shall only be allowed where a member is dependent on public transport, duty bus or
travel club to commute between his/her residence and workplace. When it is expected of
such a member to perform early or late duty and public transport is not available within a
reasonable time, that is 30 minutes after late duty has been completed, or 30 minutes
before commencement of early duty. Early duty must be regarded as being from at least
one hour before normal working hours and / late duty as at least one hour after normal
working hours. The member must be performing official duty on the instructions of higher
authority. Due to this obligation that the member has no means of transport between
residence and workplace to perform early or late duties, the members certify that no public
transport is available.

7. I hereby declare that I acquainted myself with the contents of DoD


Instruction/LOG/2/98 dated 17 July 1998 as well as JWM 203 Chapter 14 and that I will
follow the procedures to the letter. I acknowledge the fact that this authority is only
applicable to myself as a work facility and that I will for no other reason as for the
execution of official duties be allowed to transport passengers in the military vehicle. I
further understand that this authority is an exclusive, non-transferable privilege and
undertake to voluntarily surrender this privilege as soon as it is no longer required.

PS! Members Travelling with Own Transport. Where members travel between their
residence and workplace with their own transport and it is expected from such a member
to perform early and late duties, the following must be adhered to:

a. No departmental transport shall be made available to the member.

b. The member must, during normal working days, use his/her own means of
transport to travel to his/her residence after late duty and to the workplace for
early duty.

Confirm that all provisions as stipulated within DoD Instruction/LOG/2/98 dd 17 Jul 98 are
adhered to.
