What is the difference between PVDF and PVC

Pvdf (Polyvinylidene Fluoride)

The appearance is semitransparent or white powder or particle, the molecular chain arrangement is
tight, also has the strong hydrogen bond, the oxygen content index is 46, non-combustible, the
crystallinity is 65 ~ 7878, the density is 1.17 ~ 1.79 g / cm ~ 3, the melting point is 172 ℃, the hot
deformation temperature is 112 ~ 145 ℃, the long-term service temperature is -40150 ℃.

If vinylidene fluoride homopolymer or vinylidene fluoride copolymers with a small amount of

fluorovinyl monomers have the properties of fluorine resin and general purpose resin, they have good
chemical corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and oxidation resistance. Besides
weathering and radiation resistance, it also has special properties such as piezoelectric, dielectric,
thermoelectric, etc. It is the second largest product in the production of fluorinated plastics at present.

The global annual production capacity exceeds 43000 tons. PVDF applications are mainly
concentrated in petrochemical industry. Due to the good chemical resistance, processability, fatigue
resistance and creep resistance of PVDF, it is an integral or lined pump, valve, pipeline and pipe
fittings of petrochemical equipment fluid processing system. One of the best materials for storage
tanks and heat exchangers. Its good chemical stability, electrical insulation performance, make the
equipment can meet the requirements of TOCS and flame retardant, is widely used in the
semiconductor industry to store and transport high-purity chemicals, in recent years using PVDF
resin made of porous film, gel.
The application of diaphragm in lithium secondary battery has become one of the fastest growing
markets for PVDF. PVDF is one of the most important raw materials for fluorocarbon coatings, and
fluorocarbon coatings made from them have been developed to the sixth generation. Because of its
excellent weathering resistance, PVDF resin can be used outdoors for a long time without
maintenance. This kind of coating is widely used in power plants, airports, highways, high-rise
buildings and so on. In addition, PVDF resin can also be mixed with other resins, such as PVDF and
ABS resin blend to obtain composite materials, has been widely used in construction, automotive
decoration, home appliances shell and so on.

PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride polyvinyl chloride)

According to the hardness and properties of the material generally have 7 grades of SG1-SG7G, the
density of about 1.4 g/cm. SG4 is generally soft products, in the molding need to add a large amount
of plasticizer, mainly used in the manufacture of artificial leather, wire and cable insulation layer,
Sealing parts. SG5 or above are hard products. They are mainly used to make various pipes, such as
drainage, electrician, post and telecommunication pipes and fittings, various plates, sheets, profiles,
etc., with a shrinkage ratio of 0.6-1.5.
They have good mechanical properties and excellent electrical properties. It is a widely used plastic
with high resistance to acid and alkali, good chemical stability and low price. However, because of
its low temperature, the highest temperature is about 80 ℃, which hinders its development.
