1. WHAT DOES THE TERM MENTAL HEALTH MEAN TO YOU?
health includes our emotional, psychological, and social
well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also
helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others,
and make healthy choices.
Good mental health is when you feel positive about
yourself and cope well with the everyday pressures but
If you experience issues dealing with everyday problems,
it could be a sign of a mental health problem

WHY IS IT AN ISSUE AT OUR SCHOOL ?
school introduces opportunities for
bullying, peer pressure, self-esteem
issues, and of course, academic
stress. Going to school also causes
many children and teens to recognize
learning difficulties.

3. CAUSES OF MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES :


• Biological factors: in which chemical
balances in the brain cause a person to be
more vulnerable to mental illness
• Genetic factors: influenced by a family
history of mental health problems
• Environmental factors: typically in the
early stages of life and adolescence

What are the kinds of mental health
issues that you see students
experiencing?
Common mental illnesses among students
are anxiety, depression, eating disorders,
self-distancing and maladaptive
daydreaming

5. What mental health resources


do you know?
The only mental health
resource I know of is the
Malaysian Mental Health
Association (MMHA) who provide
support through their phone line
on any mental health issue
