SCENE 1 - Presenting a problem that can be solved with our learnings in PEO.
Student 3: It’s because of this building’s poor ventilation, guys. Look, iisa lang ang
bintana, so there’s a pathway for air to enter, but where will it labas? As I know,
Ventilation helps control heat levels in a closed area, which explains why ang init
dito.
Student 4: Of course, hindi lang yan ang natutunan namin, marami pang iba!
Narrator: In a province filled with promise and potential, one group of individuals
stands at the forefront of progress – the Provincial Engineer's Office
Student 1: Hello everyone! We’re the work immersion students from Bicol
Regional Science High School, and we’ve been on an incredible journey with the
Provincial Engineer’s Office also known as PEO.
Student 2: Join us as we take you behind the scenes and show you the vital role
this office plays in shaping our province’s future.
Student 4: The mentorship and guidance we've received from the engineers and
staff members have been invaluable in shaping our understanding of the profession.

Student 1: During our time in the Quality Control Division, we went to a few places
such as AVO, Wildlife, and the Governor’s Guest House to inspect the construction
process of structures which does not only include buildings, but also tanks and
water system facilities.
Student 2: Our mentors also oriented us on how to properly and safely utilize the
equipments present in the Lab. One of which is the heavy duty balance, which is
used to weigh heavy materials like rocks and gravel. They also showed us how the
Universal Testing Machine works and operates, which is used to determine the
mechanical properties of cement. Lastly, they allowed us to try using the hydraulic
press, which we thought needed a lot of pressure to operate, but actually did not.
Student 3: On the following days, our skills in drafting, planning, and designing a
house were tested. We were tasked to make two floorplans per person, one bubble
diagram, and two three-point perspectives with specified measurements. We were
given a short introduction on how to make the above mentioned outputs, before we
were tasked to do so, and then they checked our works afterhand.
Student 5: Lastly, we learned how to estimate the required materials such as sand,
gravel, and cement for specific structures, with varying classes that define the
sturdiness of a concrete. We were able to estimate the amount of sand and gravel in
cubic meters, and cement in bags. Through that, we were able to calculate the total
cost of the projects we were given. *whisper* We also learned the percentage of the
Project Engineer’s share in the project’s total cost.
