Warm Greetings!

It’s needless to say that - Learning by doing things, often referred to as experiential
learning, is a highly effective way to acquire knowledge and skills. It's rooted in the idea
that active engagement with tasks, projects, or experiences leads to deeper
understanding and retention compared to passive learning methods like reading or
listening.

With the onset of Summer Break 2024, to raise the learning curve of the students, we bring some
fun, frolic & exciting home-tasks to be done this summer . We request the parents & students to
go through the document meticulously to understand the Holiday Homework before they get
going.

General Instructions for Students -

1. The Holiday Homework has been designed subject-wise.
2. Students need to strictly adhere to the instructions provided in the description box of each
activity.
3. In some cases, reference links to the worksheet/videos have been provided. Refer to those
before beginning the Holiday Homework.
4. Students are expected to maintain a proper report of the Homework as per the description
provided in each activity.
5. All the records/reports need to be maintained neatly.
6. Students need to submit the Holiday Homework within 2 weeks of Re-opening of the

 1. Take an empty 500 ml (Half a liter) plastic bottle.
2. Now some measurement marks on a regular interval (50
ml).
To do so, take a measurement unit of 50 ml and fill it with
water and dump it into this water bottle, and make a mark
of 50 ml on it. Repeat this again and make a mark of 100
ml. Thus, you will get this bottle marked with a 50 ml
interval.
3. Pour some hot water (random amount) to expand the air
inside the marked empty bottle for a while (10 sec) till it
expands it enough and dump this water back into the bowl
of hot water.
4. Then, immediately, put this bottle inverted into cold
water.
Now, you will observe that the air inside this bottle will
start filling it.
5. Measure this filled volume using the marks on the bottle.
Result: The volume of air contracted when it is cooled will
be ________ ml.
