Fresh tomatoe’s are wild species originated in the Andes mountains of south America, probably
mainly in Peru and Ecuador. “TOMATO” is derived from the Aztec word “TomatL”. It is also one of the
most important vegetable plant in the world. Tomatoe’s are loaded with a substance called “Lycopene”
which is great at fighting free radicals that cause disease. It is also excellent source of Vitamin A ,C. eaten
fresh , added to salads cooked as a jum .,sauce , and juice. Important cash crop for smallholder famers
mainly open fields , however greenhouse tomato production is growing in popularity .
