All assignments for this course must be typed, use proper grammar, and must be submitted on the due date. Week 1 1. Please list and describe five major historical events/experiences that has affected your ethnic/racial group (e.g. societal privilege, mass migration, war, servitude, enslavement, famine, religious persecution, etc.). 2. Please list ten race and/or cultural related issues presently taking place in the U.S. Provide a brief explanation for each as to how it relates to race & culture. Due: April 12th --1pt Week 2 1. Please compare your ethnic/racial history (what you described last week) with another ethnic/racial groups history. 2. Chose three topics that you would like to work on for the group project. Due: April 19th 1pt Week 3 Write an assessment of yourself as a group member: Fears about working in a group on this project, perceived benefits if all goes well and how do you personally envision things going well. Also, assess your strengths, weaknesses, work ethic, work style, communication style, possible misconceptions members may initially have of you (i.e. I joke a lot and some people think it means I wont be serious when it comes to work, but I am). What is the best communication approach for group members to discuss the project process/progress with you should they have problems. Make 5-6 copies (enough for each of your group members). Due: April 26th 3pts Week 41st Group assignment submission Review literature and create an annotated bibliography of three books/articles for each group member (cite properly). From the group literature review preformed describe/outline groups focus and the direction the project is going. No web sources allowed for this assignment.
