DEVELOPMENT OF A WEB-BASED INVENTORY AND ORDER

PROCESSING SYSTEM FOR VAZQUEZ COMMODITIES (VAZCOM)
CORPORATION

By
Jayme Erika L. Patron

February 2010

ABSTRACT

As the technology moves forward, security is becoming one the major concerns

that must be considered to provide protection of these properties. Concurrent

development and security must be improved and developed to level up the need of

protection. The purpose of the study is to develop a double security system vault that

provides security of properties by authenticating and discriminating authorized from

unauthorized personnel to access the vault using numeric keypad as input display and
biometrics technology. The system is composed of two-level authentication; the first

level is utilized through coding of Personal Identification Number code (PIN code) and

the second level is implemented using biometrics technology (fingerprint recognition).

Both authentications must be satisfied in order to grant a permission to access the vault.

Based from the results of the evaluation conducted, the overall mean of 4.57 shows an

outstanding rating. The rating proves that the research project is effective in securing

valuables such as money, precious gems and important documents.

ANALYSIS:

 The researchers background gave the introduction of their research, and if you

read it, you can say what their research is all about.

 Their statement of the problem provides a hint, and they gave what is lack in the

security so that you will think what they want to do or what solution they want to

do.

 Their objective also gave a hint, word- “purpose”, its clear cause they gave one

how they prototype works.

 The researchers gave a brief methodology for their abstract because I think if they

gave the whole methodology there, it would become too long.

 They gave the numeric result, that’s why we think its their result and we see the

word “result.”

 The researchers gave in their conclusion what is the most important things that

can put in their prototype, since is it a security purpose they gave the most
valuable things that you can put in their prototype that if you use it, you can a

peace of mind.

DEVELOPMENT OF A PORTABLE ELECTRONICS FILM CUTTING BOARD

FOR REPRODUCTION PHOTOGRAPHY

July 2012

ABSTRACT

This study conceptualized and developed the "Electronic Film Cutting Board for

Reproduction Photography" to provide a support device for instruction in better

understanding of quality control and standardized practices in reproduction photography.

The prototype is intended to be used by students and faculty in the practice of precise

film cutting which can help to standardize the exact and identical size of films and to

better understand quality. The device is electronically operated to ensure fast and reliable

cutting of films. The film is fed to the flat form base and cutting is facilitated through the

electronic guided cutting blade in a vertical and horizontal motion. The base measures

50.8 x 66.04 x 11.0 cms and can accommodate a 30.48 x 50.8 cm stock size of film. The

flat form base is made of ply board and its top is covered with a flexi board for smooth

finish to protect the film from scratches during cutting. The cutting knife is made of

stainless steel blade for NT cutter and can be easily replaced after excessive use. The

prototype was evaluated to determine its acceptability based on seven criteria:

functionality, aesthetics, workability, durability, economy, safety, and saleability. A panel

of evaluators and observers composed of four selected faculty in the field of mechanical,

electrical, and printing technology rated the project. As a result of evaluation, the

prototype obtained an overall mean rating of 4.67 which has an equivalent descriptive

rating of highly acceptable. The project was developed according to its planned design

parameters and was fabricated based on the desired working plan and purpose.

ANALYSIS:
 Their abstract clearly defined the purpose of their research.

 It describes on how well-fabricated their prototype is based on their plan and

purpose.

 It is well-organized and coherent that they follow the sequence of introduction

such as SOP, methods, objectives, result, and conclusion. However, it doesn’t

have literature.

 The abstract is readable using precise verbs, concise and clear and is more than

250 words.

 This abstract is well-written and has a compelling argument.

March 2015

ABSTRACT

The Semi-Automatic Coconut Cracking Machine was developed to lessen the

danger in using manual bolo or hammer when breaking coconut shell. It has a blade to

crack the coconut shell, clamp to hold coconut, funnel for juice to flow and container to

collect the juice, reducer motor to reduce the striking of the blade, and AC motor for

power supply. The machine was subjected to a series of tests to determine the

functionality of the prototype. Performance evaluation was conducted by professionals,

teachers, coconut sellers and common individuals. The prototype was evaluated and

obtained an average rating of 4.26 with a descriptive rating of "Very Good." This

signifies that the machine can be used by coconut sellers and common individuals. To

further improve the said prototype, the following are recommended such as; conveyor

must be placed for automatic loading and releasing of the coconut; increase the height of

point of operation of the prototype for more comfortable operation; provide a detachable

screen or fabric filter to sift the juice of the coconut; construct a machine guarding or

cover on all moving parts, and install front guarding for safety when not in use was

suggested by the evaluators. The researchers therefore conclude that the prototype, Semi-

Automatic Coconut Cracking Machine is safe to use.
