IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR GRADUATING STUDENTS AND GUESTS
To ensure the solemnity and orderly conduct of the
2023 PLM Commencement Exercises and Other Related
Activities, everyone is enjoined to observe the following
guidelines:
I. College Specific Schedule for Graduation
a. 1st SESSION (7 Sept. 8AM-12NN) - SOG & PLM BS
b. 2nd SESSION (7 Sept. 1PM-5PM) - SSW, CAUP, CED,
CHASS, CMu, CN, & CPT
c. 3rd SESSION (8 Sept. 8AM-12NN) - CEngg & CS
d. 4th SESSION (28 Sept. 8AM-12NN) - GSL, CL, CM,
and All Graduate School Programs (PLM BS, SOG,
CED, CEngg, CHASS, CN, CPT, and CS)
II. Dress Code for the Graduating Students
In accordance with the Pamantasan Administrative
Order No. 21-ACA 2022, the graduands may choose their
preferred decent attire, corresponding with their gender
identity and expression, detailed as follows:
- For tops, the graduands can wear long-sleeved
polo, barong, Filipiniana tops/shawls, and Baro.
T-shirts are strictly prohibited.
- For bottoms, graduands can wear DARK COLORED
SLACKS, SKIRTS, AND PANTS. Maong or denim
jeans are strictly prohibited.
- For dresses, graduands can wear their best
DECENT DRESS. The dress shall not be longer
than the academic gown.
- Graduands shall wear BLACK CLOSED SHOES or
any formal shoes. Open toes, back slings,
sandals, slippers, strapped shoes, and rubber
shoes are strictly prohibited.
- Graduands shall wear decent hair color (not loud
hair color)
- Graduands may wear WHITE KN95/N95 face mask
(Optional)
VII. Graduation Ceremony Flow
III. Issuance of Graduation tickets
a. Three (3) color-coded Graduation tickets will be
issued to each graduand. One (1) ticket for the
graduand and two (2) barcoded tickets for the
graduand’s guests.
b. Each graduand is entitled for two (2) adult guests
only.
c. Schedule of distribution of tickets will be announced
by their respective college.
d. Tickets are not for sale, only tickets provided by
PLM will be honored by PICC. Strictly NO TICKET,
NO ENTRY.
IV. Requirements upon entry to PICC Main Lobby

V. Admission and Assembly of Graduating Students
a. Graduands, together with his/her guests shall enter
through the PICC Main lobby as early as 6:00 a.m.
for the Morning Session (Session 1, 3, and 4) and
11:30 a.m. for the Afternoon Session (Session 2).
b. Graduands shall proceed to the Upper Bridgeway
for assembly before entering the PICC Plenary Hall.
Markers will be provided for each of the College.
Assistant Deans, College Secretaries, Department
Chairpersons and Faculty-in-charge are instructed to
check the graduating students’ attendance at their
designated area.
c. Graduands must be seated at their designated seats
30 minutes before the start of the ceremony.
Faculty marshals/ College Representatives will be on
hand in the ceremonial hall to guide them to their
allocated seats.
VI. Admission of Guests
a. Guests, upon entry through the PICC Main Lobby,
will proceed to the PICC Plenary Hall through the
Lower Bridgeway.
b. Tickets will be collected at the glass doors after the
Lower Bridgeway.
c. Guests may enter through the lower entrance to the
Plenary Hall Ground Floor. They shall occupy the
seats designated for the guests/parents on a First
Come, First Serve basis starting 6:30 am (Morning
Session) and 12:30 pm (Afternoon Session).
d. Routine risk management procedures will be
imposed upon entry. Candidates and guests are
discouraged from bringing unnecessary items to the
occasion to avoid undue delays.
e. Wearing of WHITE KN95/N95 face mask properly will
be OPTIONAL
a. Graduands shall stay in their designated seats upon
entry to the Plenary Hall. They are not allowed to
make unnecessary noise and movements. They
must wear their academic gowns, and caps at all
times until the end of the ceremony.
b. The tassel of the cap must be placed on the right
side. After the conferment of degree, graduands will
shift the tassel to the left.
c. The ceremony will start at 8:00 a.m. for the Morning
Session and 1:00 p.m. for the Afternoon Session.
c1. Graduates Receiving Diploma
Ø A faculty marshal shall lead the graduates to the
queue area heading to the center stage, one row
at a time.
Ø Graduates will line up at the queue area, foot of
the stairs (right side) to the stage where names
will be checked again.

Ø They will wait at the stairs for their name to be
called. The graduate whose name is about to be
called should remain standing at the designated
spot until his/her name is called.
Ø When the graduate's name is called, he or she
will walk across the stage to receive his or her
diploma using the left hand and shake hands with
the University Officials, College Dean and the
Department Chairperson respectively with the
right hand.
Ø After receiving their diploma followed by shake
hands, graduates will walk straight ahead and
move offstage.
C2. Graduates with Honors
Ø The graduates with honors will receive their
medals from the faculty marshal.
Ø The graduates with honors shall wear their
medals when they walk across the stage to
receive their diploma.
VIII. Exit during Recession
The exit of the graduates and parents/guests will be
at the Forum Street.
IX. Proper Decorum
a. Graduating students are required to STAY IN THEIR
DESIGNATED SEATS AND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED
TO LEAVE THEIR PLACES UNTIL THE
RECESSIONAL.
b. PICTURE TAKING DURING THE CEREMONY IS
STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Cameras and cell phones
that will be used within the restricted areas during
the ceremony will be confiscated by the security
officers and marshals.
c. Flower corsage, brooch pin, and lapel pin are not
allowed to be worn during the entire graduation
ceremony. FLOWERS, GARLANDS, and GIFTS must
only be given after the ceremony.
d. EATING, SMOKING and other activities that may
disrupt the flow and conduct of the program are
STRICTLY PROHIBITED and shall be dealt with
accordingly.
e. Unruly, threatening, and disruptive acts shall be
STRICTLY PROHIBITED and shall be dealt with
accordingly.
f. THE UNIVERSITY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE
ADMISSION OR TO ASK ANY GRADUAND OR GUEST
DISPLAYING INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR TO
LEAVE THE CEREMONY.
g. Graduands shall eat and attend to their other
physiological needs before the start of the
graduation ceremonies.
h. Do not bring personal effects that may be lost if left
unattended. PICC and PLM shall not be liable for
any loss.
i. Switch to Silent Mode all cellular phones during the
ceremony.
j. Observe signages (Entrance, exit, Comfort Rooms,
Assembly Area)
k. Except for the VIPs who can avail of the free parking
spaces, others can avail of the paid parking spaces
within the PICC compound.
PICC RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Appropriate attire shall be required for entry in PICC.
Absolutely no wearing of slippers/undershirt (sando)
are allowed. PICC reserves the right to refuse entry of
any person who is not appropriately attired.
2. Bringing in and conducting the following are strictly
prohibited.
- Drugs and all forms of contraband
- Alcoholic beverage
- Deadly weapons and objects
- Pets
- Food and Beverage (other than those served
and prepared by the PICC Caterer)
- Loitering
- Sleeping
- Gambling
- Cooking
- Eating and drinking inside halls and meeting
rooms during non-social functions
- Smoking inside Meeting Rooms, Halls, closed
corridors, and walkways
3. Children below seven (7) years old are not allowed entry
to events that do not involve children.
4. Cellular phones and two-way radios must be switched-
off inside Meeting Rooms and Halls where events are
going on as these interfere with the sound system.
5. Only authorize photographers will be allowed inside
PICC to take pictures during the ceremonies.
6. PICC shall exercise full authority within its premises and
reserves the right to control, regulate, inspect, refuse
entry to or prohibit any person as well as materials
considered inimical to or which constitute violation of
Philippine laws, and PICC rules and regulations.
7. Graduands and Guests with COVID-like symptoms are
highly discouraged to attend the graduation event.
Persons that show these symptoms shall not be
allowed to enter the PICC Plenary Hall.
BACCALAUREATE CEREMONY
Graduands are reminded to attend the Baccalaureate
Ceremony on September 01, 2023 (Friday) which has two
(2) parts:
(1) Interfaith and Thanksgiving
3:00 pm – Assembly Time
3:30 pm - 4:00 pm – Interfaith and
Thanksgiving Ceremony
at the University Activity Center (UAC) and
Justo Albert Auditorium (JAA)

- For bottoms, graduands can wear SLACKS, LONG 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm - BSSW, BAC, BAC-PR, BMMP,
SKIRTS, PANTS, or JEANS (maong or denim). BS PT, and BS Arch
- For dresses, graduands can wear their best
SUNDAY DRESS. September 05, 2023 (Tuesday)
- Graduands may wear RUBBER SHOES, or any at the Justo Albert Auditorium
formal shoes. Sandals, slippers, and strapped 9:00 am - 11:00 am - All CED undergraduate programs

- Wearing of Slippers, Sando, Spaghetti Strap, Crop 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm - All CS undergraduate programs
Top, See Through, and Mini Skirt shall be strictly
prohibited. September 06, 2023 (Wednesday)
- Graduands shall wear decent hair color (not loud at the Justo Albert Auditorium
hair color) 9:00 am - 11:00 am - BSChE, BSCE-CM, BSCE-SE, and
- Graduands may wear WHITE KN95/N95 face mask BSCpE
(Optional) 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm - BS EE, BS ECE, BS MFGE, BSME,
BSCS, and BSIT
The entire proceedings of the Baccalaureate Ceremony
will be live streamed through PLM website and social September 23, 2023 (Saturday)
media accounts. at the Justo Albert Auditorium

ACADEMIC GOWNS DISTRIBUTION/RETURN GUIDELINES

1. The location of the distribution of complete academic attire (gown, mortarboard cap, and tassel) of graduands will be at
the GL Walkway - Under the Mango Tree (in front of Justo Albert Auditorium – main entrance).
2. Only the Bachelor’s degree graduands will have the provision of FREE rental of academic gowns and caps.
3. All Graduands, University Officials and Faculty Members will shoulder the deposit fee on their personal account.
4. The deposit fee will be refunded immediately after the return of the complete academic regalia.
5. After the Commencement Exercises Session (AM or PM), PLM Graduates as well as University Officials, & Faculty
Members must return their complete academic attire (gown, mortarboard cap, and tassel) to the staff of PLM's Official
Supplier of Academic Gowns, Caps, and Berets at the designated areas for Toga Return at the PICC (Tent between Forum
1 and Gate1, and at the front lobby of Forum1).
6. For those individuals who were not able to timely return their academic gowns at PICC right after the Commencement
Exercises Session (AM or PM), you may return your toga at the shop of the PLM's Official Supplier of Academic Gowns,
Caps, and Berets.
7. Schedule of Toga Distribution will be after the Graduation Orientation/Rehearsal on September 04, 05, 06, and 23, 2023.

RENTAL FEES & DEPOSIT PENALTY CHARGES

Rental Fee Deposit • A penalty of PHP 50.00 per day delay of return.
1 set Bachelor Gown FREE (PLM-funded) • A charge of PHP 30.00 for each lost tassel
1 set Master’s Gown Php 300.00 • A charge of PHP 100.00 for each damaged/lost cap/hood

8. PLM Graduands may also order high quality custom-made academic regalia, which is to be charged to their personal
accounts.

DISTRIBUTION OF GRADUATION TICKETS

1. Schedule of distribution of graduation tickets is the same date as the of the distribution of complete academic attire.
2. PLM Graduands will proceed to the GL walkway to claim their Graduation tickets immediately after they claim their
academic attire at the UAC.
3. Three (3) color coded Graduation tickets will be distributed by the College Department Chair/Faculty/Staff to each
graduand. One (1) ticket for the graduand and two (2) barcoded tickets for the graduand’s guests.
