CYCLONE YAKU IN LIMA

Lima, like several regions in the north of Peru, is

being affected by the intense rains that the
arrival of the Cyclone Yaku caused. This reflects
the problem that the city’s infrastructure and
homes have because they are not designed to
withstand this type of emergency.

“Chorrillos, Cieneguilla, El Agustino, Independencia, La

Molina, La Victoria, Cercado de Lima, Los Olivos,
Lurigancho, Lurín, Pachacamac, Puente Piedra, Rimac,
SJL, SJM, Santa Anita, VMT and VES are the districts
most affected by the rains, so they should be more
aware of taking preventive measures to minimize the
risks.
