SALUTE 51 EPISODES
ENJOY THE TWO PARTICIPATION GAMES FROM THIS YEAR’S SHOW

DESIGNING PARTICIPATION GAMES

These two episodes are designed for the constraints of shows. They aim to
demonstrate the basic 7TV rules to new players, as well as giving a quick and
fun game for veterans. With time often limited for players at shows, casts and
script deck have been streamlined for faster play. For example, we have reduced
the number of stars and limited prop cards, so players don’t have as many
special effects to remember. In building casts, we also want to demonstrate how
our generic profiles can be applied to a range of different cinematic settings -
plus show off some of our lovely miniatures!

NARRATIVE EPISODES
Both these games are narrative episodes, so differ from 7TV’s usual open play

SALUTE 51 EPISODES
episodes in that they specify:

• Exact ratings sizes and specific cast lists.

• A detailed location, playing area size with recommended terrain, and specific
starting positions.
• Special rules to help theme the episodes.
• Victory conditions for each player to meet.

Below are the specific changes affecting each part of your game.

PROLOGUE
Each episode specifies the playing area size, set up, terrain and cast member
choices to get the most out of teach setting. Any profiles shown in italics can be
found in the 7TV Core Rulebook (pages 208 to 275).

PROP CARDS
Nightmare on Nu-Earth does not use prop cards. Who Goes There? uses only the
three prop cards from the 7TV: The 80s Genre Guide listed on page 8.

SCENE
Each episode includes themed special rules, so always read these carefully
before play begins.

SCRIPT CARDS
We list the number of script cards to use for each episode. We also suggest that
instead of a random selection of cards, you carefully choose the cards that best
suit the fun and speed of a quick game. So simply avoid those script cards that
would give an unfair advantage - or bring a game to too early a conclusion.

Villainous set up area

SALUTE 51 EPISODES

Heroic set up area

Scratchbuilt Temple of Wukong by Tony Harwood. Scatter terrain from Crooked Dice.

LOCATION
The 24” square playing area represents the Jungle Temple of Wukong. The
playing area has three tiers – ground, mid terrace and throne level. Each is
consider one level. These are consider High Walls or Cliffs (7TV Core Rulebook,
page 91), so moving between each level if not using the modelled stairs requires
a model to make Body statistic test for each Move action. If this test is failed,
the model still expends the action but does not move.

SET UP
Each casts starts in an opposing corners on the ground level of the playing
area. Between them are stalagmites, carved pillars, scattered crates and the
Beastman Battletank - which is there purely there as a scenic item to block
line of sight and fight around.

Also place three objectives tokens on the throne level – all within three inches of
the throne. All objective tokens trigger the Cursed Treasure trope – see below.

AND... ACTION!
Your script deck should be 15 cards from the 7TV Accessory Cards Pack for
this episode. This episode does not use prop cards. Initiative is determined as
normal (7TV Core Rulebook, page 71).

SPECIAL RULES
THE TIERED TEMPLE
The playing area has three tiers – ground, mid terrace and throne level. Each is
consider one level.

These are consider High Walls or Cliffs (7TV Core Rulebook, page 91), so
moving between each level if not using the modelled stairs requires a model to
make Body statistic test for each Move action. If this test is failed, the model
still expends the action but does not move.

This also means that models may be subject to Falls (7TV Core Rulebook, page
91) if pushed down levels – 1D6 for each level.

THE CROWN OF WUKONG (CURSED TREASURE TROPE)

SALUTE 51 EPISODES
Inform both players that they see a supernatural glow emanating from treasures
around the throne. There is also a large simian skeleton sitting on the throne.
Still resting on the brow of the dessicated body of the Mighty Wukong is a
golden crown. These are represented by the three objective tokens.

Use the Cursed Treasure trope, 7TV Core Rulebook,

page 151 when interacting with these objectives tokens.
Ensure you have a spare model put aside to
represent the Cursed Creature that may
be triggered with this trope.

VICTORY POINTS
Use the standard victory conditions on
7TV Core Rulebook page 115 in this episode.

Who Goes There? table by TM Terrain. All MDF and 3D printed terrain from Crooked Dice.

SET UP
The heroes are placed in the corner of the north eastern playing area edge.

The villains are placed in the corner of the south western playing area edge.

Place three objective tokens as shown on the map. These are represented by
the crates or fuel cans.

Set aside the Inevitable Explosion script card – and do not include it in the
Finale deck until the criteria of the Fuel To The Fire special rules are met.

Set aside the Head Thing and Spider Thing profiles until these profiles are in play.

AND... ACTION!
Your script deck should be 15 cards from the 7TV: The 80s Accessory Pack for
this episode. The villainous cast gain the initiative thanks to their gestalt mind.

SPECIAL RULES
FUEL TO THE FIRE!
This episode only uses three objective tokens.

• These may only be claimed by heroic cast models of 2 ratings on more - so

dogs can’t collect tokens!

• Claimed objective tokens do not count toward the final victory point total.

Each token represent cans of fuel that the heroes can collect – and potentially use.

• If the heroes claim one fuel can, they will fuel the snowcat and meet the
escape victory conditions.
SALUTE 51 EPISODES

• Heroic players can also spend one objective token to light the fuel with a
special action. This causes the following effect:

Fuel Spray - Barrier. All models touched by the template gain the On Fire
status.

• The objective token is then discarded and does not count toward victory
conditions.

• If the heroic cast claim two objective tokens, they may also use the fuel to
douse the base in petrol to burn out the alien infiltrators. Once the heroes
have obtained two objective tokens they make take the Inevitable Explosion
script card and shuffle it into the Finale deck. When this card is drawn it is
immediately handed to the heroic player who must play it immediately. The
active player then uses the next script card for their turn.

WHO GOES THERE?

Whenever a model loses Health, roll 1D6 and consult the table below.

1D6 WHO GOES THERE? EFFECT

1 Whiteout. The route ahead is unclear. All Extras must pass a Mind statistic test
or receive the Weakened status.
2 Who let the Dogs out? What has spooked the hounds? Roll 1D6: 1-3) Bad Dog!
One Dog Thing gains one free Move action 4-6) Good Dog! One Dog gains one

special effects are doubled this turn.
5 Forty Days of Night. When did you last see the sun? Your highest rated model
must may pass a Spirit statistic test to lift morale. If successful, gain ✪. If you
fail give ✪ to your opponent.
6 A Fine Malt. Drown your fears with whiskey. The heroic player may immediately
remove 1D3 statuses.

ESCAPE
The heroes escape is only guaranteed when
a heroic model gets into base-to-base with
the snowcat, with at least one objective token.
Models doing so are considered to have escaped,
and do not count as removed from play when
determining axed tests. The snowcat can decide to
leave to ensure the survival of those on board,
abandoning any remaining crew to their fate!

VICTORY POINTS
Use the standard victory conditions on
7TV Core Rulebook page 115 in this scene.
