APRIL 24 LESSON PLAN

Theme: If clause type two and Wish clause


Level: A2-B1
Age: 15
Duration: 40 minutes
Materials: video, board marker, ppt.
Aims: By the end of the lesson,
 Students will be able to recognize the phrases related to imaginary situations in a
recorded text.
 Students will be able to talk about their personal hero (who he/she is and why he/she is
their hero/heroine).
 Students will be able to write a paragraph imagining themselves as a hero/heroine
while using if clause type two.
 Students will be able to make a personal wish statement.

PRE
Aims:
 To motivate the students for the lesson.
 To draw their attention to the subject by showing them a video and ppt
 To make a smooth transition to the topic.
 Make them to expose to grammar structures as input.
 Students will be able to speak about their personal wishes.

Procedure: The teacher enters the classroom and generally chats with his students and asks
questions about how they are doing. Afterwards, he/she goes to the lesson and explains the
subject they will study and tries to learn the students' background knowledge about the subject
by asking some questions. After doing this, the teacher opens the videos (appendix A) related
to the topic and asks the students to listen. After listening to the videos, he asks his students to
make similar sentences in the grammatical structure they will study. The teacher passes this
origami lamp to the students one by one. He asks the student holding the lamp in his hand that
he has one wish and what would you wish for? Students make their wishes one by one.

WHILE
Aims:
 Students will be able to write a sentence about target objective grammar.
Procedure: Afterwards, the teacher opens the controlled direct grammar activities (appendix
B) that he shows on the board to reinforce the students' gains and they answer the questions
one by one together with the students.
POST
Aims:
 Students will be able to write a text or a sentence about target grammar objective.
 Students will be able to understand and give answers to questions related to grammar
objectives.
Procedure: Afterwards, the teacher asks the students to write a short text, which is less
controlled, in which they explain what they would do if they were in an imaginary situation
according to the scenarios in the target outcome. It shows an example based on the targeted
grammar rule and then gives students time to write. After the time is over, he asks the students
one by one to read their writings to the class and share them with their friends.
