Introduction
*Solar energy is any type of energy
generated by the sun.
*The Sun Tracking Soil Moisture Control
Solar Irrigation System combines renewable
energy, precision agriculture, and smart
irrigation.
*Sun-tracking solar panels maximize energy
capture, powering an intelligent irrigation
system that uses sensors to monitor soil
moisture in real-time. This ensures water is
delivered exactly when and where needed,
reducing waste and optimizing usage.

*The system maintains optimal soil

moisture, enhancing crop yields.
* In this presentation, we will explore the
system's components, benefits, and real-
world applications, showcasing its
transformative impact on sustainable
agriculture.

Why we should support

Renewable source of energy?

*As our project is related to Solar energy

and solar energy is also fall in category of
Renewable energy .
*Due to the scarcity of non renewable
sources of energy we need to welcome this
type of sustainable energy for a revolution.
Objective
*Maximize Solar Energy Capture: Sun tracking adjusts solar
panels to follow the sun, increasing energy output by 25-40%.
*Optimize Water Usage: Moisture control systems ensure precise
irrigation, reducing water wastage.
*Increase Crop Yields: Consistent moisture levels promote
healthier plant growth and higher yields.
*Reduce Operational Costs: Enhanced efficiency lowers energy
and maintenance costs.
*Promote Sustainability: Reduced reliance on fossil fuels and
water conservation support environmental sustainability.

• From the bloack diagram we can clearly see that we use

solar panel which is connected with a integrated circuit
2822d where 2 ldr ,2 resistor and a motor is connected .
Also we use three rechargable battery connected
parrallely .

• When sun rays hit the solar panel then the pv cell
generate power which recharge the batteries .we
use two light dependent resistor connected in IC
And the Ic drives the dc motor according to sun
direction.

• Then We use An Microcontroller called arduino uno which

get power supply from battery and the solar panel is also
responsible here to charge the battery .The arduino uno
can’t work without installing programming in it ,that’s why
we create a programming to install it .

• Moreover we use soil moisture sensor which also

connected in the port of the arduino . The sensor is
placed in the field where the crop is beingcultivated.
The sensor converts the moisture content in the soil
into equivalent voltage.

• We also use relay which also connected with the

arduino but the relay also get power supply from the
battery because relay need external power supply to
work

• After that we connect a water pump for actuating the

water supply ,it is connected in the relay terminal.

Arduino UNO is a low-cost, flexible, and
easy-to-use programmable open-source
microcontroller board that can be
integrated into a variety of electronic
projects.

Solar panel

A solar panel is a device that converts

sunlight into electricity by using
photovoltaic cells. PV cells are made of
materials that produce excited electrons
when exposed to light.

12
Integrated
circuit
An integrated circuit (IC), sometimes
called a chip, microchip or microelectronic
circuit, is a semiconductor wafer on which
thousands or millions of tiny resistors,
capacitors, diodes and transistors are
fabricated.

Relay module

The primary function of a relay module is

to switch electrical devices or systems on
and off. It also serves to isolate control
circuits, ensuring that low-power devices,
such as microcontrollers, can safely control
higher voltages and currents.

Moisture sensor
• Soil moisture sensors measure or
estimate the amount of water in the
soil.
• Measures soil water content using
methods like electrical resistance or
dielectric constant.

Light dependent
resistor
• LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) as the
name states is a special type of resistor
that works on the photoconductivity
principle means that resistance
changes according to the intensity of
light. Its resistance decreases with an
increase in the intensity of light.

Pump
• A pump is a mechanical device
designed to move fluids (liquids or
gases) or sometimes slurries by
mechanical action.
• Pumps are widely used in various
applications, including agriculture,
industry, and domestic settings.

Motor
• An electric motor is an electrical
machine that converts electrical energy
into mechanical energy.
• Most electric motors operate through
the interaction between the motor's
magnetic field and electric current in a
wire winding to generate force in the
form of torque applied on the motor's
shaft.

Resistor
• A resistor is a passive two-terminal
electrical component that implements
electrical resistance as a circuit
element
• In electronic circuits, resistors are
used to reduce current flow, adjust
signal levels, to divide voltages, bias
active elements, and terminate
transmission lines, among other uses.

Rechargable
battery
• A rechargeable battery, storage
battery, or secondary cell, is a type of
electrical battery which can be
charged, discharged into a load, and
recharged many times, as opposed to a
disposable or primary battery, which is
supplied fully charged and discarded
after use.

Jumper wire
• Jumper wires are simply wires that
have connector pins at each end,
allowing them to be used to connect
two points to each other without
soldering.

• Rainbow Wire is multiconductor flat
pump cable with colored insulation
that won't chip or fade.

Working principle

23
• As our project is completely dependent on solar
energy we have to need solar panel for collecting
solar power and stored in rechargable battery.
• To collect enough solar power the solar panel rotate
with respect to wherever the sun direction .
• The rotation of the solar panel is responsible for the
uses of motor and the Light dependent resistor.
• The solar panel charge the battery and the battery
also connected in the arduino for give power supply.

24
• The watering system is given by the Pump which is
connected with the water tank and the motor gets
supply from the battery .
• For Sensing the moisture and start the pump a soil
moisture sensor is used and a programming uploaded
to the Arduino board.
• We use A Relay module for protection.
• Whenever the Filed moisture level is decreased the
sensor sense this and send signal to the arduino board
and according to the programming the pump will
automatically start working and when the field gets its
necesarry water then the sensor also send the signal to
arduino board and hence the Pump will off.

CONCLUSION
*By implementing the proposed system there are various
benefits for the government and the farmers. For the
government a solution for energy crisis is proposed.

*By using the automatic irrigation system it

optimizes the usage of water by reducing wastage
and reduce the human intervention for farmers

*The excess energy produced using solarpanels can also be

given to the grid with small modifications in the system circuit,
which can be a source of the revenue of the farmer, thus
encouraging farming in India and same time giving a solution
for energy crisis.
