1. Purpose
This method of statement describes the procedure and inspection
instructions to be followed during Concrete Repairing works. This has to
ensure that all activities are in full compliance with requirements as per
manufacturer’s standards.

3. Roles & Responsibilities

Project Head  Shall report to H.O
Project  Reporting to the Project Head.
Manager/Deputy  Liaison with Engineer/ Engineers representatives.
Project Manager  Liaison with specialized agencies.
 Planning and arrangement of resources.
 Liaison between design department and site execution team.
 Liaison with internal departments like planning department, quality control
department, plant & machinery department, safety department, stores etc.
for effective progress.
 Safety & quality system implementation.
 Monitoring the program: Planned vs. achievement as per the target.
Planning  Reporting to the Project Head.
Manager/Engineer  Interacting with Engineer’s representatives and internal departments.
 Daily review of program and progress with the project manager &
Construction Managers.
 Responsible for resources allocation.
 Projection of material requirement and arrangement for procurement.
 Preparation of monthly programs based on Erection / Master Program.
 Monitoring of the progress and updating.
 Documentation of all process related reports as per ISO requirements


Manager/Engineer  Shall be responsible for overall control of QC activities and sub-

contractors QC activities, implementation of Project Quality Assurance
Plan.
 Shall be responsible for carrying out inspection as per the Field Quality
Assurance Plan (Inspection and Testing Plan) and/or this approved
construction methodology.
P&M in charge  Ensure continuous availability of FED at site.
 Ensure periodic preventive maintenance & timely breakdown repairs of all
machinery & electrical equipment as per their inspection manuals.
 Ensure operation of FED as per company norms
Site Engineers  Reporting to the respective in-charge.
 Prepares micro planning schedule for the activities set by the Bay in–
charge.
 Achieving targets as per the planned.
 Targeting for zero accidents.
 Quality check at all the stages of activities.
 Material wastage control like rebar, concrete, consumables etc.
 Arrangement of necessary materials required for next shift.
 Updating the shift registers/records.
 Handing over & taking over with the counterparts.
 Tools and tackles periodical checks along with P&M and safety section
Safety Officer  Shall report to site Project Head.
 Shall observe all safety aspects in all the activities.
 Maintenance of board including ensuring proper lighting and reflector over
board wherever required.

7.0 SEQUENCE & METHOD OF WORK

For Cracks Repairing in Concrete :-

 Identify the cracks,cut cracks in V-groove shape & clean

defective area with air blower & wire brush.After that
clean with Water.
 After cleaning left the surface for dry and pour bonding
agent with cement slurry in cracked area.
 After pouring bonding agent cement slurry then finished
this portion with 1 cement:3 fine sand mortar.
 Start curing upto 7 days.

For BULGING,AIR VOIDS,OFFSET in Concrete :-

 Bulged portion need to be chipped off.After that need to be

 proper clean chipped portion with water and wire
brush.when surface in SSD condition then apply Nito bond
SBR Latex.After application of Nito bond apply GP2 or 1:3
cement sand mortar on chipped surface.
Air Voids need to be filled with cement & very fine sand in
ratio of 1:3.
 All offset in concrete structure need to be repaired with 1:3
cement sand mortar after application of Nito bond.

For Honeycomb Repairing in Concrete :-

 Identified honeycombs defective area

 The affected defective area is cleaned, brushed,
hammered or chiseled to remove the loose concrete
and small particle such as sands and dusts.
 Hack off all the loose concrete until sound and solid
concrete is achieved.
 All the leftover concrete dust is then washed away
with water or blown using compressed air. This is to
ensure good bonding between the concrete and the
repair material.
 Ensure that the surface is clean and free from oil,
grease or any loose material then apply bonding
agent/cement slurry.
 Non-shrink grout Conbextra GP2/ Equivalent Material
is then mixed according to the supplier’s instructions:

i. Pre-dose the required volume of clean water into a

clean mixing vessel. For a flowable mix/Pourable mix
use 4.125 – 4.5 of water per 25kg bag or as per
Technical Sheet . Add the powder slowly into the pre-
measured clean water and mix mechanically for at
least 3 minutes with a slow speed mixer or any
suitable equipments until a smooth, uniform
consistency is achieved.

ii. Place about 70% - 80% of the pre measured clean

water (depending on consistency required - refer to
mix ratio) into a clean container and gradually add the

whole bag of Conbextra GP2/Equivalent Material into

it while continuously mixing. Add the remaining water
until the desired consistency is obtained.

iii. Mix for 2 to 3 minutes properly with suitable equipments.

 Using a masonry trowel, a layer of the non-shrink

grout is then applied onto the surface of the affected
area.
 Level the surface to the required shape and
finishing. The affected area shall be brushed /
trowel smoothly.
 The repaired area will be hardened after about 4 to 5
hours.
 Curing need to be maintained upto 7 days

Extruded Tie Rod Treatment:-

 First chipped out concrete upto 60 mm dia from Tie

Rod position upto cover depth.

 Clean all chipped area with blower & wire brush

 Clean the area with clean water.

 After drying the surface,Apply Nitobond and

 then repair with GP2.
 Curing need to be maintained upto 7 days

8.0 HOUSE KEEPING

Housekeeping of work place area shall be ensured by section head

and engineer.

9.0 OUT PUT RECORD

Observation Should be recorded in QC Format.

10.0 Mandatory Safety Requirements:

 Every workman must be engaged after Screening, Safety induction &
medical test with a valid ID card.
 Appropriate PPE shall be used at all times.
 Work shall be executed by competent and under continuous supervision.
 Any un-authorized activity shall be strictly prohibited.
 There should be proper co-ordination and communication between
teams/workmen at all times.
 Proper housekeeping shall be maintained.
 Required inspections shall be carried out prior to start work.
 Proper illumination shall be maintained during night work.
 Permit system shall be followed for activities such as height work, night work
and hot work.
 TBT shall be conducted before starting work.
 All safety parameter will be follow during work at height which is instruct by
LICL SHE Department.
