PEDIATRICS ROTATION ENDORSEMENT

*This is during MY time to rotate. Any changes, dili nalang ako mag talk*

Groupings? Yes, alphabetically arranged. You have 2 separate groups, 1 for SD/CD/RP and another for Return
Demo. Leaders will grade you. Pili kayo ng masipag na leader.

Individual works? none

Activities Usually done:

1. Live Lecture (LL) •

- Usually takes 1 hour a day. Starts in the afternoon mostly. List of topics are given ahead of
time so you could read. On and Off cam will depend on lecturers but almost all do not care.

2. Case Discussion (CD) •

- Group work. Cases are given ahead of time. These cases are sometimes lacking some
information, so you must determine what are missing. You can find the cases in the web, just
search for them. Best thing to have in the ppt: what are the pertinent negative and positive,
what are lacking in the case, correct computed dosage of the drugs un the treatment.
Always correlate back to the patient, they want a personalized treatment for the case.

3. Reflection Papers (RP) •

- Group work. Mostly about the videos that they will send with a gdrive. Some leaders will just
assign 1 video per student in a group to reflect. Be ready with you English palabok skillz.

4. Webinars •
- Mostly for reflection paper purposes. Coor will announce these and usually there are about
2-3 webinars per week. Your leader may assign 3 clerks to attend.

5. Time with residents •

- Resident in charge will mostly discuss topics. Expect quiz through gdocs after. During my time
we only had a total of 3 meetings.

6. Quiz (5-10 items) every night •

- From the lectures of the doctors that day. Conducted on Canvas but may shift to Lockdown
or Respondus. Not on cam as of my rotation.

7. Skills development (SD) •

- Expect to do videos about the listed skills. The department will provide this list. Leaders will
assign students per skill, and these will be presented every SATURDAY with a consultant
present. You will be expected to do the skills with no demonstration from them. Just base on
videos you can find in youtube. Reference materials that can be used: Nelson and
Duderstadt. BE READY: video editing skills, acting skills.
8. Return Demo •
- This is by group. Consultants will be assigned to you, and they will have special instructions.
Passing would be at the end of the month. Leaders will be required to give you peer review
so be cooperative. List of skills are given 1-2 weeks in advance.
9. Exit Exam
- 25 items. ANYTHING UNDER THE SUN
