Introduction:
I. The old year is over, and a new year has
now begun.
A. At the start of this year, we have no
idea what will happen in it.
1. We do not know what might
happen in the world.
2. We do not know what might
happen in our own lives.
B. The future is unknown.
1. Things might go this year as
we expect and as we would
like them to go.
2. But we might face unexpected
and unpleasant & difficult
experiences.
C. It is therefore possible that we are
afraid concerning the future.
II. The Word of God assures us, however,
that we do not need to be afraid.
A. Why not? Because Jehovah our
God is directing our steps.
B. You can be confident He will do
that every day of your life in 2011.

A. The text mentions the fact that all
men and women and children make
plans for their lives.
1. This is something we often do
at the start of a new year.
a. We sometimes make
new-year resolutions.

Introduksyon:
I. Ang lumang taon ay nakaraan na, at isang bagong taon ang
nagsimula.
A. Sa pagsisimula ng taon, wala tayong ideya kung (what will
happen) ano ang mangyayari rito.
1. Hindi natin nalalaman kung ano ang maaaring mangyari
(in the world) sa sanlibutan.
2. Hindi natin nalalaman kung ano ang maaaring mangyari
(in our own lives) sa ating mga buhay.
B. (The future) Ang kinabukasan ay (unknown) hindi hayag.
1. (Things might go as we expect and like) Ang mga bagay
sa taong ito ay maaaring maganap at ayon sa ating
inaasahan at nais nating magpatuloy ang mga ito.
2. Subalit maaaring humarap tayo sa (unexpected) di-
inaasahan at (unpleasant) di-mainam at (difficult) mahirap
(experiences) na mga karanasan.
C. Posible sa gayon na tayo ay (afraid) natatakot hinggil sa
(future) kinabukasan.
II. (Word assures us) Tinitiyak sa atin ng Salita ng Diyos, (however)
gayunpaman, na tayo ay hindi dapat na matakot.
A. Bakit hindi? Sapagkat ang Diyos ang (directing) nangangasiwa
ng ating mga (steps) hakbang.
B. Puwede tayong (confident) magtiwala na ito ay gagawin Niya
sa bawat araw ng ating buhay sa 2011.

I. ANG ATING MGA PINAPLANO
A. (It mentions) Binabanggit ng teksto ang (fact) katibayan na ang
lahat ng tao [babae at lalaki at mga bata] ay gumagawa ng mga
plano para sa kanilang mga buhay.
1. Ito ay bagay na (often) malimit ay ginagawa natin sa
pagsisimula ng taon.
a. (Sometimes) Minsan gumagawa tayo ng mga
bagong taong resolusyon. (We decide) Nagpapasiya
tayo kung ano ang gusto nating gawin (or
accomplish) o tapusin sa bagong taon.
(1) Gumagawa tayo ng mga plano tungkol sa ating
trabaho.
(2) Gumagawa tayo ng mga plano tungkol sa ating
pamilya.

 (3) We make plans for
our children.
(4) We make plans re
our possessions.
b. And we make many other
plans, too – about travel,
visiting, saving money,
spending money, going
places – about our
spiritual lives, etc.
2. The text states that these plans
are made in the “heart.”
a. This indicates we usually
make good plans. For,
the child of God has a
regenerated and thus a
new heart.
b. This does not mean all
our planning is perfect.
(1) Quite often our
plans are sinful, and
not good, and not
pleasing to God.
(2) We are proud when
we make them. We
are selfish. We are
earthly minded.
(3) We make plans that
are against God’s
will and commands
in the Bible.
c. But by the grace of God
we also make good plans.
(1) God’s Spirit guides
us so we decide
things that agree
with God’s Word.
(2) That please God.
B. It is not wrong for us to make such
plans.
1. God’s Word here is not
condemning us for our plans.
a. It is true God has
eternally planned and
decided every thing that
will happen.
Prov. 19:21. Is. 45:7.
(3) Gumagawa tayo ng mga plano para sa ating
mga anak.
(4) Gumagawa tayo ng mga plano tungkol sa ating
mga (possessions) ari-arian.
b. At gumagawa din tayo ng marami pang mga plano:
(1) tungkol sa (travel) paglalakbay
(2) tungkol (saving money) pag-iimpok ng pera,
(3) (going places) pagtungo sa iba-ibang lugar,
(4) tungkol sa ating espiritwal na mga buhay, atb.
2. (Text states our plans made in the “heart”) Sinasabi ng
teksto na ang mga planong ito ay ginagawa sa “puso.”
a. Ito (indicates) ay nagpapahiwatig (usually) na
kadalasan ay gumagawa tayo ng magagandang
mga plano. Sapagkat, ang anak ng Diyos ay
mayroong (a regenerated and new heart) muling-
binuhay na isang bagong puso.
b. (This doesn’t mean) Hindi ito nanganga-hulugan na
(perfect) sakdal ang lahat ng ating pagpaplano.
(1) (Often) Kadalasan ang ating mga plano ay
(sinful) makasalanan, at hindi mabuti, at hindi
(pleasing) nakalulugod sa Diyos.
(2) Tayo ay (proud) nagmamalaki (or selfish) o
makasarili (when) kapag ginagawa natin ang
mga ito. Tayo ay (earthly-minded)
nangakatuon sa makalupang mga bagay.
(3) Gumagawa tayo ng mga plano na (against)
salungat sa (will) kalooban at mga utos ng
Diyos sa Biblia.
c. Subalit (by grace) sa biyaya ng Diyos, gumagawa
din tayo ng mabubuting plano.
(1) (Spirit of God guides us) Ginagabayan tayo ng
Espiritu ng Diyos upang (decide) ipasiya ang
mga bagay (that agree with) na naaayon sa
Salita ng Diyos.
(2) Thus ang mga bagay that please God
(nangakalulugod sa Diyos).
B. (Not wrong) Hindi mali na gawin natin ang (such) nasabing
mga plano.
1. Dito ay hindi (condemning) hinahatulan ng Salita ng
Diyos ang ating mga plano.
a. Totoo na walang hanggang (planned & decided)
ipinanukala at ipinasiya na ng Diyos ang lahat (that
will happen) na mga magaganap.

II. WHAT JEHOVAH DOES
A. Although we make plans, and
although it is proper for us to do
this, yet it is God Who directs our
steps.
1. This means that it is not your
plans (regardless of how good
they are) that determine what
will happen in your life in
2011.
2. The truth is this – it is God
Who determines what will
happen in your life. It is God
who will direct every single
step you take in 2011.
(1) (Cannot be careless) Hindi tayo maaaring
maging di-maingat. We have to think ahead –
hindi tayo maaaring magpatuloy sa buhay na
hindi iniisip (the future) ang kinabukasan.
(2) Kailangan nating gumawa ng mga plano
tungkol sa many things in our lives:
(a) tungkol sa ating mga pamilya
(b) tungkol sa ating mga trabaho
(c) tungkol sa edukasyon
(d) tungkol sa ating espiritwal na mga buhay
(e) at marami pa ring ibang mga bagay.
3. (We may and must) Maaari at dapat tayong gumawa ng
mga plano.
a. At sa biyaya ng Diyos, nagagawa nating gumawa ng
(good/wise) matalinong mga plano.
b. (Given regenerated hearts) Sapagkat tayo ay nanga-
bigyan ng muling-binuhay na mga puso ng Diyos.
c. (Given Word as guide) At ibinigay sa atin ng Diyos
ang Kanyang Salita upang magsilbing gabay sa atin.
d. Sa pamamagitan ng Banal na Espiritu, nagagawa
nating gamitin ang Salita ng Diyos sa ating mga
buhay at sa lahat ng ating mga pagpaplano.
e. Then our plans are right/proper/pleasing to God.
II. ANG GINAGAWA NI JEHOVA
A. (Although) Bagamat tayo ay gumagawa ng mga plano,
at bagamat (it is proper) matuwid para sa atin na gawin ito,
(yet God directs our steps) datapwat ang Diyos ang
nangangasiwa ng ating mga hakbang.
1. (This means) Ito’y nangangahulugan na hindi ang
inyong mga plano (no matter how good they are – gaano
man kabuti ang mga iyon) ang nagpapasiya kung (what
will happen in you life) ano ang mangyayari sa ating
buhay sa 2011.
2. (The truth is this) Ito ang katotohanan:
a. Ang Diyos (Who determines) ang Siyang
nagpapasiya kung ano ang mangyayari sa iyong
buhay.
b. Ang Diyos will direct ng bawat hakbang na
ginagawa mo sa 2011.

B. The text reminds us that God has
made plans too.
1. There are some important
truths we should keep in mind
re God’s counsel or plans.
2. 1 s t , God’s counsel is
sovereign.
a. God Himself decided, on
His own, what will
happen.
b. God didn’t ask anyone.
3. 2nd , God’s counsel is all-
comprehensive.
a. This means it includes
absolutely everything
that happens.
b. Every creature and every
action and every event is
planned by God.
4. 3rd, God’s counsel is all-wise.
a. This means that God has
made a perfect plan.
God’s plan has no
mistakes in it.
b. God’s one purpose is to
glorify Himself. He does
this by saving His
people.
c. All serves that purpose.
5. 4 t h , God’s counsel is
unchanging.
a. This is emphasized in our
text by the name
“Jehovah.” This name
means that God Himself
never changes. Mal. 3:6.
b. Obviously God’s plans
very different from ours.
(1) We think we make
good plans. But not
- they won’t work.
(2) God never has to
change things. No
errors or mistakes
in His plan.

B. (Text reminds us) Pina-aalalahanan tayo ng teksto na (God has
made plans) ang Diyos ay mayroon ding ginawang mga plano.
1. Mayroong ilang (important truths) mahahalagang
katotohanan that we should keep in mind tungkol sa payo
at mga plano ng Diyos.
2. Una, ang payo ng Diyos ay sovereign/kataas-taasan.
a. (God Himself decided) Ang mismong Diyos ang
nagpasiya, (on His own - sa Kanyang sarili), kung
ano ang mangyayari.
b. God did that without the input of any creature –
Didn’t ask anyone: angels, men, you, me.
3. Pangalawa, ang payo ng Diyos ay all-comprehensive –
lahatang-komprehensibo.
a. (This means) Ito’y nangangahulugan na (it includes
absolutely everything) ganap na ibinibilang nito ang
lahat ng nagaganap.
b. Ang bawat creature (nilalang) – at bawat action
(gawa) at bawat (event)
c. All planned by God – including every detail.
4. Pangatlo, ang payo ng Diyos ay all wise – lahatang-
matalino.
a. Gumawa ang Diyos ng perpektong plano. (No
mistakes) Walang mali sa plano ng Diyos.
b. (God’s one purpose) Ang isa na pinaka-layunin ng
Diyos ay to glorify Himself.
c. Ginagawa Niya ito sa pamamagitan saving His elect
people (ng pagliligtas ng Kanyang bayan).
d. Because His plan is all-wise, all that happens
perfectly serves His glory and our salvation – ....
5. Pang-apat, ang payo ng Diyos ay unchanging – di-
nagbabago.
a. (This emphasized) Ito’y binibigyang-diin sa ating
teksto sa pamamagitan ng pangalang “Jehova.”
(1) Ang pangalang ito means God Himself ay hindi
nagbabago. Malakias 3:6.
(2) As Jehovah, God never changes His mind or
ang Kanyang mga plano.
b. Maliwanag na ang mga plano ng Diyos ay ibang-iba
kaysa atin.
(1) We think we make ng magagandang plano.

C. The text teaches that God’s plans
determine what actually occurs –
not our plans.
1. And the text makes it very
personal, for it states that God
directs our “steps.”
a. This points to the fact
that God’s plan is very
detailed.
(1) It is not the case
that God simply has
a general, overall
plan for our lives,
and that’s it.
(2) It is not true that He
takes care of big
things, and lets us
decide the smaller
details of life.
b. But God’s plan is very
detailed. His plan
includes also our “steps.”
(1) Every move you
make in life is
determined and
controlled by Him.
(2) He has decided all
of the little things
that can seem to be
insignificant.
(3) They are part of His
perfect and wise
p l a n f o r you r
salvation and your
eternal glory.
2. You and I must keep this in
mind as we begin a new year.
a. We will make plans. We
may plan to get a new
job. We may plan things
concerning our families.
We may plan to move
somewhere else. We
may plan other things.
b. But what will happen this
year? Only what God
has planned.

C. Itinuturo ng teksto na ang mga plano ng Diyos (determine what
actually happens) ang nagpapasiya kung ano ang aktwal na
magaganap – (not our plans) hindi ang ating mga plano.
1. (And text makes it very personal) At ginagawa itong
napaka personal ng ating teksto, sapagkat sinasabi nito
na ang Diyos (directs our steps) ang nangangasiwa ng
ating “mga hakbang.”
a. (This points to the fact) Ito’y tumuturo sa katibayan
na ang plano ng Diyos ay very detailed – napaka
detalyado.
(1) (Not the case) Hindi kaso na ang Diyos ay
(simply has a general plan) mayroong simpleng
panglahatang plano para sa ating mga buhay,
(and that’s it) at ito iyon.
(2) Hindi totoo (that He takes care of big things) na
pinangangalagaan Niya ang malalaking mga
bagay, (and lets us decide smaller details) at
hinahayaang ating desisyonan ang mas maliliit
na mga detalya ng ating buhay. – E.g., God
does work of saving us – We .....
b. Subalit ang plano ng Diyos includes everything –
also ang ating “mga hakbang.”
(1) Ang bawat (move you make) galaw na
ginagawa mo sa buhay ay determined and
controlled (ipinasiya at kontrolado) by God.
(2) (He has decided all the little things) Naipasiya
na Niya ang lahat ng maliliit na bagay that can
seem (insignificant) hindi mahalaga.
(3) (They are part of) Bahagi ang mga ito ng
Kanyang perfect & wise plan (sakdal at
matalinong plano) para sa iyong kaligtasan at
walang hanggang (glory) kaluwalhatian.
2. (We must keep this in mind) Dapat mo itong itanim sa
iyong isipan sa pagpasimula natin ng isang bagong taon.
a. (We will make plans) Gagawa tayo ng mga plano.
(1) Perhaps (Siguro) ang bagong trabaho.
(2) Perhaps plans tungkol sa ating mga pamilya.
(3) Perhaps plan to move – lumipat sa ibang lugar.
(4) May plan (other things) ng iba pang mga bagay
b. (But what will happen this year?) Subalit ano ba ang
mangyayari sa taong ito?
(1) (Only what God has planned) Ang plenano ng
Diyos lamang! He will carry that out!
 (1) Some of our plans
may be fulfilled –
b/c same as what
God has planned.
(2) But many of our
plans simply will
not happen – b/c
different from
God’s.
c. That is a fact.
(1) That will be our
experience in 2011.
(2) God (and not we)
will direct what
happens.
III. WHAT COMFORT THIS GIVES
A. It is comforting that God’s plans are
the ones that are fulfilled – and not
ours.
1. If our plans were fulfilled, our
lives would be a disaster.
a. For we are weak and
limited. We are not able
to think of everything.
We are not able to
control everything. We
are not able to make
plans that are perfect and
wise.
b. And we are sinners. All
we decide is decided by
one who is a selfish,
proud, unstable, foolish,
s h o r t -s i g h t e d , a n d
earthly-minded sinner!
c. In the end, therefore, our
salvation would fail. For
we do not always think
about our souls and our
salvation when we
decide things.
2. The fact that God directs our
steps means we will certainly
get to heaven.
(2) (Some of our plans may be fulfilled) Ang ilan
sa ating mga plano ay maaaring nangatupad na
– sapagkat they are the same/pareho sa
plenano ng Diyos.
(3) (But many of our plans won’t happen) Subalit
marami sa ating mga plano ay simpleng hindi
mangyayari – sapagkat they are different/iba sa
mga plenano ng Diyos.
c. (This is a fact) Iyan ay katibayan.
(1) Iyan ang ating (experience) mararanasan sa
2011.
(2) Ang Diyos (at hindi tayo) will direct what
happens (ang mangangasiwa sa mga
mangyayari) – absolutely everything!
III. KAALIWANG IDINUDULOT NITO
A. (Comfort that God’s plans are fulfilled) Naka-aaliw na ang
plano ng Diyos ang siyang matutupad – (and not ours) at hindi
ang atin.
1. (If our plans) Kung ang ating mga plano ang (fulfilled)
nangatupad, ang mga buhay natin ay (a disaster)
magiging malaking kapahamakan.
a. Sapagkat tayo ay mga (weak) mahina at limitado.
(1) (We not able) Hindi natin kayang (to think)
isipin ang lahat.
(2) Hindi natin kayang (control) pamahalaan ang
lahat.
(3) Hindi tayo puwedeng makagawa ng mga plano
na (perfect & wise) sakdal at matalino.
b. At tayo ay mga makasalanan. Ang lahat ng ating
pasiya ay pasiya ng isang (selfish) maramot, (proud)
mapag-malaki, (unstable) hindi matatag, (foolish)
hangal, (short-sighted) maigsing-paningin, at
(earthly-minded) makalupang makasalanan!
c. (In the end, therefore) Sa huli, sa gayon, ang ating
kaligtasan (would fail) ay mabibigo. Sapagkat, (We
do not always think about) hindi natin laging iniisip
ang tungkol sa (our soul and salvation) ating mga
kaluluwa at kaligtasan (when we decide things)
kapag ipinasisiya natin ang mga bagay.
2. (The fact) Ang katibayang that God directs ng ating mga
hakbang means that (we will certainly get to heaven) tayo
ay tiyak na mapapasa langit.

 3. Psalm 73:23-24.
a. Those are beautiful and
very comforting words.
b. It is true that sometimes
the way is difficult. That
might happen to you this
year.
c. But God will keep your
feet on the road that
leads to everlasting life.
d. And God will accompany
you. He will be at your
side. He will hold you in
His hand.
e. Because of God’s
counsel/plan and work,
you will receive and
enjoy heavenly glory.
B. We must remember the important B.
connection between heaven and the
life we now live.
1. This life is the perfect
preparation for your unique
place in glory.
a. Your plans do not
prepare you for or bring
you to heaven.
b. God’s plans alone do.
2. Like this:
a. God says: “Unless I
direct your steps and
your life, glory cannot
possibly be yours!”
b. The believer says: “Why
this suffering and these
trials? – Isn’t there a
better way than this?”
c. God says: “No, there is
no other way. I have
planned all this. This
prepares you for
heaven.”
d. The believer responds:
“Then that is the way I
want to go. Not another.
For I long for glory!”

3. Awit 73:23-24.
a. (Beautiful and very comforting words) Ang mga
iyon ay maganda at napaka naka-aaliw na mga salita.
b. It is true that sometimes the way God leads us is
mahirap – napaka-mahirap (very difficult).
(1) Puwede that will happen sa iyo sa taong ito.
(2)
c. But God is with you.
(1) (At your side) Siya’y pasasa panig mo.
(2) He will hold you sa Kangyang kamay.
(3) He will keep ang iyong mga paa sa daan that
leads to walang hanggang buhay.
d. Dahil sa payo at gawa ng Diyos, (you will receive
and enjoy heavenly glory) ikaw ay tatanggap at
masisiyahan sa makalangit na kaluwalhatian.
We must remember (the important connection) ang mahalagang
ugnayan (b/w) sa pagitan ng langit at ng ating buhay sa ngayon.
1. Ang buhay na ito ay (the perfect preparation) ang sakdal
na paghahanda para sa iyong (unique) pambihirang dako
sa kaluwalhatian.
a. Your plans do not prepare you para sa langit. Your
plans do not bring you sa langit.
b. Ang plano ng Diyos ang gagawa niyan – and only
God’s plans!
2. Really it’s like this:
a. Sinasabi ng Diyos: “(Unless I direct) Malibang
pangasiwaan ko ang iyong mga hakbang at ang
iyong buhay, ang kaluwalhatian ay hindi posibleng
mapapa sa iyo!”
b. Sinasabi ng mananampalataya: “(Why) Bakit
kailangan ang (suffering) kahirapan at ang mga
(trials) pagsubok na ito? – (Isn’t there a better way
than this?) Wala bang mas mabuting paraan kaysa
rito?”
c. Sinasabi ng Diyos: “Hindi, walang ibang paraan! (I
have planned all this) Binalak ko ang lahat ng ito.
(This prepares you for heaven) Inihahanda ka nito
para sa langit.”
d. Ang mananampalataya ay tutugon: “Sa gayon iyan
ang daan that I want to go (na nais kong tahakin).
Hindi iba. Sapagkat (I long for glory) inaasam ko
ang kaluwalhatian!”
 3. Sometimes we struggle to say
that.
a. For we think we know
better than God what is
good for us.
b. We think health is better
for us (or for our family
members) than sickness.
c. We think prosperity and
earthly success is better
for us than poverty and

mainam na mga hakbang para sa atin (in this new
year) sa bagong taong ito (so we arrive in heaven)
kaya tayo ay makakarating sa langit.
b. (What a blessing and comfort that is) O anong
pagpapala at kaaliwan.
c. (We can be sure we will receive) At tayo ay
makatitiyak na tatanggapin natin ang walang
hanggang kaluwalhatian – (which God has prepared
in LJC) na inihanda ng Diyos para sa atin sa ating
Pangioong Jesu-Cristo.

a. (But God does) Subalit alam ng Diyos.
b. (His way is perfect) At ang Kanyang paraan ay sakdal para sa
