Hi Yoko,
I got (1) your long email about two weeks ago and have been trying (2) to find time to write
you back ever since. I have been (3) very busy lately. In the past two weeks, I have had (4)
four tests, and I have another one next week. In addition a friend has been staying (5) with
me since last Thursday. She wanted to see the city, so we have been spending (6) a lot of
time visiting some of the interesting places here. We have been (7) to the zoo, the art
museum, and the waterfront.
Yesterday we went (8) to a park and watched (9) a hot air balloon race. Between seeing the
city and studying for my exams, I have barely had (10) enough time to breathe.
Right now it is (11) 3:00 A.M., and I am sitting (12) at my desk. I have been sitting (13) here
for five hours doing my studying. My friend’s plane leaves (14) in a few hours, so I decided
(15) not to go to bed. This is why I’m writing (16) to you at such an early hour in a day. I am
getting (17) a little sleepy, but I would rather stay up. I’m going to take (18) a nap after I get
(19) back from taking her to the airport.
How are you getting (20) along? how are (21) your classes going? please write soon.
Best,
Yoko

Subject : Hello 😊
Hi sist!
Greetings from New York! I’m so sorry for not replying your email earlier. New York has
been hectic these past 3 weeks. I have been very busy since I got here. I have 3 unfinished
projects and there is another one coming. Do you remember my old friend Ibrar?
Apparently he’s also staying in New York until December. We have been spending a lot of
our free time visiting some interesting sites right here in Manhattan. These past three
weeks, he has shown me a lot of great sites here. We went to the Metropolitan Museum of
Art to see the infamous MET GALA dresses that have been worn by a lot of celebrities such
as Rihanna and Blake Lively. We also went to the Central Park that’s located in the heart of
Manhattan.
Yesterday, we went to the 57th and Madison Avenue to see the famous Tiffany and Co. store
where Audrey Hepburn ate her sandwich in “Breakfast in Tiffany’s” and continued window
shopping because we couldn’t afford anything over there.
I’m writing this email because I want you to know that I’m fine and you don’t need to worry
about me. Ibrar has been a very nice friend to me and you can trust him. Right now, its 2:00
AM in New York, and I haven’t moved from my seat at all because I’m still working on those
projects. they’re almost done and I just need to check them again for any mistakes. I’m
feeling a little sleepy because I haven’t had any sleep since I came back from strolling
around Manhattan with Ibrar. I’m going to take a nap after I finish checking those projects.
How are you getting along in Semarang? I hope Diponegoro University treats you well.
What’s new with you? Reply this mail as soon as you get it.
With love,
Bagas
