I’ll choose
field hockey as an example. Here’s a labeled diagram of a field hockey field, along with its rules,
terminologies, and skills:
Field Hockey
Goalposts: Located at each end of the field. Players aim to score by hitting the ball into the opponent’s
goal.
25-Yard Line: Also known as the “shooting circle.” Goals can only be scored from within this area.
Objective: Score more goals than the opponent by hitting the ball into their goal.
Start and Restart: The game starts with a center pass. Restarts occur after goals, fouls, or when the ball
goes out of bounds.
Penalty Corner: Awarded when a defender commits a foul inside their shooting circle. Attacking team
gets a shot from the 25-yard line with defenders behind the goal line.
Penalty Stroke: Awarded for a deliberate foul by a defender inside the shooting circle. Attacker takes a
one-on-one shot against the goalkeeper.
Stick Tackling: Players use their sticks to tackle opponents and gain possession.
Remember that field hockey is a fast-paced and exciting sport that requires teamwork, skill, and strategy.
Enjoy playing or watching! 🏑
