ABU Prizes are the most prestigious program
awards in our region that honor the best Radio,
Television and Digital Media content from our
member organizations.
This year, the Award Presentation Ceremony will
be held in October at Istanbul, Turkey, as a gala
event of the ABU General Assembly

Call for entry : 15 March 2024

Entry deadline : 30 June 2024
Pre-selection judging : 15 July – 15 August 2024
Final judging : 10 - 12 September 2024
Award presentation : Mid - October 2024
 Special Jury Prizes
Special Jury Prize will be selected by the Final Juries, from
all finalist programmes (except winners). Special Jury Prize
recognises programmes which have made special impact
on the jury, due to their subject matter, treatment or
production value. The prize is not necessarily awarded
annually and will be awarded when deemed appropriate by
the Final Juries.
 ABU PRIZES WINNER

Each winner will receive US $1000, a trophy and certificate

 COMMENDED ENTRIES
• Final Juries may select commended entries,
in cases where two finalists were very close
in scores and when the jury agrees that a
particular entry was worthy of recognition.
• Commended entries receive a certificate at
the ABU Prizes Gala Presentation.
 Digital Media Category

Entries submitted for the ABU Digital Content Award must be

online media contents developed as an extension of
existing screen or audio programs and/or stand-alone
original productions that are tailor-made using a wide range
of available digital tools. This award honors the quality of the
content as well as the digital impact they create among
audiences.

 Digital Media Category
The ABU Digital Content Award does not limit the nature of
contents acceptable for entry. Entries may include, but not limited
to, the following :
▪ Digital, multimedia, multiplatform and/or transmedia stories and content

▪ Tech-enabled content such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality
(MR) promos, short films, documentaries etc

▪ User-generated or crowdsourced content

▪ Online content such as webisodes created exclusively for internet audiences

▪ Social media content such as Facebook/Snapchat/Instagram/TikTok/YouTube stories, short

films, documentaries etc

▪ Data generated content or content created with data visualization

▪ Content created exclusively on mobile phone or using mobile apps and tools

▪ Interactive content such as Alternate Reality Games (ARG) etc

▪ Innovative content that utilizes or are generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI), bots, wearables etc

CATEGORY DESCRIPTION
Drama A single episode drama or one episode of a series. Each
organization is eligible to enter two items in this
category: one short-form drama (15 minutes and under)
and one long-form drama (16-60 minutes).

Podcast An audio feature (or one episode of a series) made

specifically for listening on-demand from online. Entries
should be story-driven (i.e. not a news report or single
interview), demonstrating the special qualities of
podcasting to connect to individual listeners.

Documentary A single documentary or a feature or one of a series.

News
Reporting Topical coverage of a single news event.

CATEGORY DESCRIPTION
Community Campaigns or announcements on a single issue that is of public
Service interest, and which is not more than 90 seconds duration. The CSA
Announcement should aim at creating public awareness within its cultural context.
(CSA) Such a CSA should be produced in-house.

On Air Work of a single on-air personality, either a single performance or
