SOPs Regarding Thesis/Research Project

Thesis/Research project for MBA (Tourism & Hospitality Management) programs is a 6-credit hour
requirement.

1- Every student opting for thesis has to fill the thesis opt proforma at the end of the 2nd semester. Performa is
attached on annexure-A. other students will be taught 2 courses in semester 3 rd and 4th.
2- Student will provide 2 preferences related to thesis supervision in that provided form. First available/willing
supervisor will be allocated the supervisee. In case none of the choose supervisors are available next
available faculty will supervise the thesis.
3- It is mandatory that, thesis area/topic must be related to tourism/hospitality industry or its related themes
including data sample of study and outcomes of the thesis.
4- Student will Pay fee and submit challan, of the amount as per the university policy, to relevant admin staff.
5- In charge exam and chairman will decide on formulation of committee including external/internal examiner
for the thesis viva including synopsis viva.
6- Upon submission of thesis, same will be shared with the approved external examiner. As a satisfactory
report arrived from the external, viva-voce will be arranged and same external will be called upon for the
final defence.
7- On the date of viva, student will give presentation/viva to internal and/or external examiner.
8- Internal examiner will evaluate out of 100 marks external will do the same.
9- After the compilation of result student will be declared passed if he/she has secured 120 marks.
10- If a student fails to pass thesis viva student can reappear for the viva minimum after 2 months.
11- Student will make sure to defend their synopsis at the end of 3rd semester. Performa for the synopsis and
final thesis are attached at annexure-B.
12- Final thesis cannot be submitted to exam team till all courses and comprehensive has been cleared.
13- Final transcript will be issued to student once he/she has qualified and submitted final thesis.
14- External exam committee will be provided remuneration as per the university policy.
