Gothenburg Cable Car

Gothenburg’s new cable car system will comprise one cable car line with four stations
and six towers. It is of a number of projects undertaken by the City of Gothenburg to
mark its 400th anniversary in 2021. The cable car system, which will provide fast and
efficient aerial transport across the city, will be the first new mode of public transpor-
tation in Sweeden since the subway was introduced in Stockholm in the 1930s.

For the people and the city of Gothenburg the cable car will provide an alternative
form of public transport by way of aerial shortcuts across the River City. Travel times
will be significantly reduced with minimum environment impact, while an efficient
and direct connection will be established between areas north of the river and the
old city in the south.

The 3km long Gothenburg cable car starts at Jaerntorget in the historic city on the
south bank of the river, where it links to a bus and tram transfer node. It then crosses
the river and continues to three further stations in the north of the city.

Busan Opera House (II)

PWFERRETTO is a practice split between London and Seoul. The office was founded in
2009 by Peter W. Ferretto after working for a period of 10 years in various internatio-
nal architectural companies, including Herzog & de Meuron.

During my work experience there the most important project I participated was the se-
cond round of the competition of Busan Opera House with another 10 architecture firms
(Snohetta, Zaha Hadid, Foster and Partners and Larson were some of them). I worked
for 6 months on the Opera Design, technical, artistic and conceptual, I was involved at
every step.

This project focuses on creating a complex that is rooted in the city and refrains from
becoming a mere object building. The 19th Century Opera house was conceived as an
urban artifact seamlessly knitted into the fabric of the city. During the course of the
20th Century there was a shift towards notion of an “Icon” building, vis-à-vis Sydney.
This project proposes to mediate between these two notions creating a series of perfor-
mance spaces that are clustered together in a cultural complex, creating a new urban
paradigm.

Factory Rehabilitation

Competition Entry for the New National Contemporary Art

Storage of Korea. An Art Storage institution is different from a
museum. The experience has to engage and relate to the visitor
in a more raw and immediate way. This project amplifies the
power of the existing structure by revealing its bare structural
logic.

The original factory has a beautiful sense of rationality and

authenticity; where the structure of the building is honestly
manifested in its elevations. Our projects main concept is to
expose the original structural logic of the building and in the
process create a new landmark project that retains the DNA of
the original building.

I was involved in the whole project during the one month we

spent in the competition. From brainstorming, conceptual de-
sign, concept and final models, 3D modeling and rendering, 2D
CAD photoshop elevations, and the diagrams.

S living , a container
housing in Seoul

Bespoke Container Micro Hotel Unit System Design.

Seoulhasahugeundersupplyofhotelroomsproportionaltothe
number of visiting tourists. The statistcis are staggering: over
the last decade Seoul has increased its foreign visitors by 6 fold
to around 12 million visitors/year.

Our client wants to address this problem in the market by crea-

ting a micro business hotel based on a“bespoke”container sys-
tem.Workingtogetherwithleadingkoreansteelmanufacturers
we have developed a unit system hotel that creates very diverse
facade systems usings a fixed module type.

This project we started with the container size working in some

example, modeling system of stacking the boxes. From them I
designed the branding, i went to client meetings and modified
the project within it.We modeled and rendered in many ways,
we built a mockup in real scale of one hotel room.

tual designs to the building delivery. The vast professional experience of the members of
Plan Arquitectura has taken them to develop their work through all the different fields of
architecture. Among them, building rehabilitation strikes out, with several and important
interventions in the Spanish historical heritage; Real state; Tertiary sector; Industry; Town
resources; Master planning; Detached housing; Interior design; Design and Landscaping.
Plan Arquitectura is a reference in everything related to housing construction, with over
15.000 homes projected and built.

Gran Via Office, and Monasterio de Piedra are comprehensive rehabilitation process
will be carried out to create exclusive luxury homes that, while retaining all the distinctive
elements of its original construction, will provide the building with the highest quality fa-
cilities and modern services. To the representativeness of a classic and stately space, will
be added the benefits of last generation, which will give the building a unique character
and undisputed added value.

Pattern Library for paper Stacionary

We can find patterns everywhere in our day a day basis, from the texture of the toilet
paper to the texture of our skin. For it has been always fascinating the way nature works
and it was inspiring to me to create this library that it was made with the purpose of
selling as handmade stamped paper, but it can have infinite uses, as wallpaper, texturing
materials in photoshop, some landscape stone design, or a metallic lattice for a facade.

This is a huge way from where we can design, the library can be also modified, different
colours, textures, scale, mixed one with another, and of course I can create new ones.

Handcrafting and Wacom Drawing

Since i was in school, i have always been really interested in everything related with arts,
at university I return to take art courses as natural drawing, nute drawing, city drawing,
abstract drawing ... I also took some courses of sculpting, ceramics and keep on experi-
menting myself for architectural and personal matters.

I like to experiment different techniques being texture art one of my passions, artist as
Tapies, Millares, Barceló, Antony Gormley are really inspirations for my artwork.
Here are some applied to architecture, university and my thesis.

Is is quite interesting to mix these skills to Computer graphic softwares as Zbrush or

Wacom drawing, for the postproduction of images, 3d Modeling, Sketches or diagrams.

3D Modeling and 2D postproduction

I have always loved technologies, and I am a software passionate learner. Most of them
I learn by myself the graphic techniques including 3D modeling, animation, visualization,
graphics, CAD or other architectural software, spulpting 3D model software, rendered
applications...

From my point of view everything can be made by hand, but software helps in increasing
the production and being precise.

Sculpting the space of architecture

Model making is a spatial visualization of the architecture, it is essential to understand

and play with the different possibilities and more important to recognize the errors.
Nowadays we have a much more facillities with the 3D modeling softwares where you
can even walk at human height through the building. But there are still some plasticity and
deepness on the model making that you need to feel it with your hands.

For me, it´s a pleassure to feel and play with that spacial movement, my hands are not as
precise as a laptop but it gets much more of an expression. My favourite techniques are
with wet or liquid materials so you can be more involved with the material, as concrete,
mud, resins, ...

When you are traveling and you instead of two eyes, have just one, the camera, you
learn to look at the environment with another perspective. You stare at places and mo-
ments quietly and slowly. You try to capture the atmosphere, what you are feeling.

it´s a way of life I believe in, trying to find the moments, no matter the map or the sche-
dules, the moments will arrive with inertia. And then you can make just one shot, so don´t
take 1000 pictures, just wait the moment. It will come to you.

Since the day I started University, I’ve always felt a close relation with Urban Scale,
towars that goal I’ve developed a personal study and research to understand cities and
neighbourhoods, representing them in different ways.
Something that started as a hobby later became a professional work when couple coun-
cils askied me to illustrate their cities.

It’s interesting how the perception of a city can be among different people, but these
drawings helped to underdstand how communities and habitants of a city see the place
where they live.
