Sub: M.A. Dept - Anna Canteens – Restarting of Anna Canteens for providing
subsidized food to the poor people at afordable cost – Request to take
necessary action - Regarding.

The attention of Commissioners of Municipal Corporations and Municipal
Commissioners in the State is brought to the references cited (Copy enclosed)
and hereby informed that the Government in the GO reference 3 rd cited has
ordered to restart all the earlier sanctioned 203 Anna Canteens in the State of
Andhra Pradesh to provide subsidized food to poor people at afordable cost and
informed that the C&DMA shall take immediate further necessary action
accordingly to restart the Anna Canteens within 100 Days.

2. In view of the above, while communicating the GO vide reference 3 rd cited,

all those Commissioners of Municipal Corporations and Municipal Commissioners
in the State where 203 Anna Canteens sanctioned earlier are requested to take
necessary action on the following:
a. To complete physical inspection of all Buildings and submit as-is status of
all Anna Canteens in their jurisdiction and to arrive the required facilities
like Structure intact, Furniture, Other Infra, IOT devices etc., and submit
the information in the prescribed proforma attached to this circular.
b. To prepare estimates for restoration of Anna Canteens as per the earlier
approved type design in all aspects and submit to the Engineer-In-
Chief(PH) through SE(PH) by 19-06-2024.
c. To identify Alternative buildings and shift all the existing Ward Secretariats
/ other usages from the Anna Canteen buildings by this month end.

3. Also, all the Commissioners of Municipal Corporations and Municipal

Commissioners in the State are hereby informed that the action plan for
restarting of Anna Canteens to provide subsidized food to poor people at
afordable cost within 100 days will be communicated after approval from the
Government.
