Essay

The given bar chart depicts a comparison of international sales of three distinct categories,
namely Games software, DVD/video, and CDs between 2000 and 2003.

From an overall perspective, it is conspicuous that The global sales of CDs showed a
downward tendency, whereas a reverse pattern could be observed in the figure for
DVD/video and games software.

In 2000, the sales of CDs in the international market outnumbered that of other types, at
roughly 35 billion dollars. The figure for DVD/video had the lower number, at less than $20
billion. Games software, however, accounted for the lowest number, at around $12 billion.

From 2000 to 2003, there was a gradual decline in the global sales of CDs to somewhere in
the vicinity of 31 billion dollars. In contrast, the sales of DVD/video in the international market
witnessed a significant growth, reaching a peak of just above 30 billion dollars in 2003. In
addition, during the same period, the data on Games software rose steadily to around 18%
at the end of the period supplied.
