COURSE Name : LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS and PLANNING W/ CRIME MAPPING
COURSE DESCRIPTION : This course provides the fundamental concepts of planning as a
leadership role and the operations of selected Law Enforcement and Public Safety Agencies and their
respective legal mandates and limitations under existing laws. The Crime Mapping and its relations to
police operations. The course is structured in accordance with the esteemed standards outlined in the
PQF/AQRF, ensuring its alignment with recognized framework for criminal justice education.

6. Credit : 3.0 units
7 Class schedule : 6 hours per week
8. Program Educational Objectives (PEO) of BS Crim:
3 -5 years after graduation, the Bachelor of Science in Criminology graduates are expected to:
A. Demonstrate competence in research and inquiry on the nature, causes, treatment, or
punishment of criminal behavior and how criminal justice agencies function and respond to
crime, criminals, and victims.
B. Practice knowledge and skills in crime prevention, law enforcement, scientific crime
detection, correctional administration, and public safety.
C. Manifest the values of leadership, integrity, accountability, and responsibility while serving
their fellowmen, community, and country.

17. ASSESSMENT AND FEEDBACK PLAN

18. Policies and guidelines


a. Attendance is counted from the 1st day of the class as mandated by the university. A student shall receive
a 9.0 grade (Dropped) upon incurring ten unexcused absences (Ref: OPM 6.04).
b. Valid examination permits are necessary for taking the examinations as scheduled, except for the final
examination where students can take the exam even without a final permit.
c. Students who failed to take the first, second or third exams for valid reasons are given special exams to
be scheduled and administered by the dean’s office within the allowed period. Valid reasons are limited
only to the following: no permits, medical reasons, and the death of an immediate family member (parents
and siblings). Students who failed to take the special exams will have zero as scores. For special exams in
the final exam, the only valid reasons are medical reasons and the death of a family member. Proof of these
reasons shall be required.
d. Students who failed to submit course requirements (research, assignments, etc.) within the reasonable
period agreed between the teacher and students shall be given zero as a score in the requirement.
e. A validated student identification card must always be worn by all students while attending classes and
within the school campus.
f. All students shall be required to obtain a copy of the approved textbook indicated in the Course Outline.
g. During the examination, the students must wear a plain white t-shirt and must be on time.
h. Cheating is strictly prohibited. Any form of dishonesty shall be dealt with accordingly. Honesty is always
called for.

i. The use of cellular phones, electronic gadgets, or scientific calculators is not allowed during the classes
and examinations unless permitted by the teacher.
j. Base-15 grading policy should be observed. Students who obtained failing scores in major exams are
recommended to undergo the STAR Program.
