QUESTION

With the aid of relevant scholarly articles and decided cases, critically assess the
following statement:

“The evidence suggests that the Intestate Succession Act, 1985 (PNDC Law
111) has not been very well received, particularly in matrilineal communities

where fundamental socio-economic changes have resulted from its
application. The feeling in these areas is that PNDC Law 111 is an imposition
of a foreign culture on the people in these communities.”
