Organizational design is the process of aligning the structure of an

organization with its objectives, with the ultimate aim of improving efficiency
and effectiveness.

A contingency approach to organizational design Analyzes uncertainties to


accomplish an effective work environment. Improving the work environments
for employees can increase an organization's overall success.

A Universal approach is a preposition or prescription that is designed to


worked in any scenario while a Contingency Approach suggest that the
organizational efficiency and effectiveness can be achieve in a limited ways.

Strategy, Structural Imperatives and Strategic Choice

Strategy is the set of plans and actions necessary to achieve the


organizational goals

Strategic Choice is the decision which determines the future strategy of a firm
Structural imperatives includes the essential that are needed in an
organization such as Size in order to measure how much employees need to
work in the organization, Technology that consists of mechanical and
intellectual processes that made products and services for the customers and
lastly Environment includes people, other organization, economic factors,
objects and events

General Environment it includes all of the broad set of dimensions and factors
within which the organization operates it also includes political, legal, social,
cultural, technological and international factors.

Task environment consists of outside forces that are immediately relevant for
the achievement of the goals of business organizations such as people or
groups.

Environmental Uncertainty is when managers do not have sufficient


environmental factors that could give difficulty to the organization.

Environmental Complexity is the number of environmental components that


influence organizational decisions.

Enviromental Dynamism is the extent to which important environmental


components change
