FOREWORD
Chairman of 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update
Dear Colleagues,
Many newborn infants and sick children still die from preventable causes in Indonesia. Therefore, a multipronged
intervention aiming to improve quality care of sick neonates & children, which is determined on treatment
seeking practices, skills development for health practitioners, on-site mentoring, and hospital accreditation are
significant to reduce infant morbidity. A strategy of combining professional training activities and coaching in
continuous quality improvement methods can successfully improve the best practices in NICU and PICU, and
the health care of sick neonates and children.
The 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update 2024 is a forum to discuss the most common conditions of the critical
ill neonate and infant in the emergency field. It gives an in-depth account of the diagnosis and management
of pediatric and neonatal emergency problems encountered day-to-day in an emergency room. In a review
of the recognition, evaluation, and treatment of the most common and potentially life-threatening neonatal
emergencies. We hope that all health professional for neonate and children in acute care settings would find
this event useful in their practice, establish the best approach, their pearls, and pitfalls, includes demonstrate
the standard treatment protocol for management of emergencies of newborn and children, differential diagnosis
based, laboratory testing, and a well guided treatment to improve survival and overall patients' outcome.
Bali is undoubtedly one of the most captivating places to visit. The buzzing cultural islands offer a unique blend
of rich culture and its sheer natural beauty. The strategic team of Indonesian PICU NICU Update has prepared
an exciting simultaneous two days schedule on 06 – 07 July 2024 with the theme “Updates on Management
of Sick Neonates & Children: Change in Practice Improves Patient Outcomes” to fully load up on the latest
knowledge in acute care of pediatrics and neonatology with the expertise of leading national and international
figures. The fruitful workshops in prior setting on 04 – 05 July 2024 and post setting on 08 – 09 July 2024,
related to the neonatal and pediatric emergencies, will gear the professional healthcare an advanced clinical
practice guideline.
Organized by collaboration of Pediatric Emergency and Intensive Care (ERIA) Working Group and Neonatology
Working Group/Indonesian Pediatric Society, and with the endorsement of Indonesian Pediatric Society – Bali
Branch, the annual Indonesian PICU NICU Update has been continuously kept Its work force to share Its
leading clinical and management practice innovations in the field of pediatric and neonates critical care to its
growing followers.
The 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update is your opportunity to influence your specialty and promote the art
and science of pediatric and neonatal intensive care, raising awareness amongst doctors and other allied
healthcare professionals in the field. We aim to provide plenty of opportunities to interact and network with
each other.

The official languages of the 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update 2024 are both in Indonesian, and English for
the Sessions with overseas faculties. English will be used for all printed materials. Simultaneous translation
will not be provided.

A GLIMPSE OF PROGRAM
PRE & POST SYMPOSIUM WORKSHOPS
To emphasize the importance of this essential part of its 15th Indonesian PICU-NICU Update will organize
intractable one/two full days workshops, which consist of scientific lectures, case studies and/or hands-on
special design courses, as its pre & post-symposium workshop programs.
The Pre-Symposium Workshop program will be held on Thursday - Friday, 04 - 05 July 2024, while the Post-
Symposium Workshop Program will be held on Monday - Tuesday, 08 - 09 July 2024, both offline. See detailed
schedule & requirement.
During two enchanting days, the live sessions of Pediatric ICU (PICU Sessions) and Neonatal ICU (NICU
Sessions) will fully load up on the latest advanced knowledge in acute care of pediatrics and neonatology
with the expertise of leading national and international figures. The PICU Sessions will focus on the latest
developments in pediatric critical care, while the NICU Sessions will delve into advanced topics in neonatal
care. Participants can choose to attend either PICU or NICU sessions to explore the latest advancements and
best practices in both neonatal and pediatric emergency and intensive care.
EXHIBITION
The 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update will host an offline scientific exhibition from Saturday to Sunday, 06
– 07 July 2024 including the latest technology, equipment for clinical management & research and literature.
E-POSTER SESSIONS
During 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update, participants will have the opportunity to have E-Poster Displays
will also be held from Saturday to Sunday, 06 – 07 July 2024.

• All abstracts must be original work.
• The paper must not have been published prior to 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update.
• No abstracts will be considered after the closing deadline.
• The presenting author of abstract must be registered as Registrant.
• The abstracts submission for the same primary Author is limited to two abstracts.
• Presentation Type: E-Poster Presentation.
ABSTRACT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
• Acceptance letter of abstracts will be sent to the presenter email along with the E-Poster Preparation
Guidelines no later than 10 June 2024.
• The E-Poster presentation schedule will be notified later after the PDF E-Poster submission is
completed.
PUBLICATION
• The presenting Author must be registered as participant in order to ensure their Abstract(s) is
included in the final program. The uncommitted registration will cause the disqualification of Abstract
and will not be published accordingly. Automatic cancellation will be made when the registration
payment is not completed by 10 June 2024.
• Submission of Abstract acknowledges the acceptance for Abstract to be published in official
conference publications.
• The committee reserves the right to edit the abstract format for uniformity regarding publication.
