FOREWORD
Chairman of 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update
Dear Colleagues,
Many newborn infants and sick children still die from preventable causes in Indonesia. Therefore, a multipronged
intervention aiming to improve quality care of sick neonates & children, which is determined on treatment
seeking practices, skills development for health practitioners, on-site mentoring, and hospital accreditation are
significant to reduce infant morbidity. A strategy of combining professional training activities and coaching in
continuous quality improvement methods can successfully improve the best practices in NICU and PICU, and
the health care of sick neonates and children.
The 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update 2024 is a forum to discuss the most common conditions of the critical
ill neonate and infant in the emergency field. It gives an in-depth account of the diagnosis and management
of pediatric and neonatal emergency problems encountered day-to-day in an emergency room. In a review
of the recognition, evaluation, and treatment of the most common and potentially life-threatening neonatal
emergencies. We hope that all health professional for neonate and children in acute care settings would find
this event useful in their practice, establish the best approach, their pearls, and pitfalls, includes demonstrate
the standard treatment protocol for management of emergencies of newborn and children, differential diagnosis
based, laboratory testing, and a well guided treatment to improve survival and overall patients' outcome.
Bali is undoubtedly one of the most captivating places to visit. The buzzing cultural islands offer a unique blend
of rich culture and its sheer natural beauty. The strategic team of Indonesian PICU NICU Update has prepared
an exciting simultaneous two days schedule on 06 – 07 July 2024 with the theme “Updates on Management
of Sick Neonates & Children: Change in Practice Improves Patient Outcomes” to fully load up on the latest
knowledge in acute care of pediatrics and neonatology with the expertise of leading national and international
figures. The fruitful workshops in prior setting on 04 – 05 July 2024 and post setting on 08 – 09 July 2024,
related to the neonatal and pediatric emergencies, will gear the professional healthcare an advanced clinical
practice guideline.
Organized by collaboration of Pediatric Emergency and Intensive Care (ERIA) Working Group and Neonatology
Working Group/Indonesian Pediatric Society, and with the endorsement of Indonesian Pediatric Society – Bali
Branch, the annual Indonesian PICU NICU Update has been continuously kept Its work force to share Its
leading clinical and management practice innovations in the field of pediatric and neonates critical care to its
growing followers.
The 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update is your opportunity to influence your specialty and promote the art
and science of pediatric and neonatal intensive care, raising awareness amongst doctors and other allied
healthcare professionals in the field. We aim to provide plenty of opportunities to interact and network with

PRE & POST SYMPOSIUM WORKSHOPS
To emphasize the importance of this essential part of its 15th Indonesian PICU-NICU Update will organize
intractable one/two full days workshops, which consist of scientific lectures, case studies and/or hands-on
special design courses, as its pre & post-symposium workshop programs.
The Pre-Symposium Workshop program will be held on Thursday - Friday, 04 - 05 July 2024, while the Post-
Symposium Workshop Program will be held on Monday - Tuesday, 08 - 09 July 2024, both offline. See detailed
schedule & requirement.
NEONATAL REFRESHER SYMPOSIUM

Kicking off earlier on Friday, 05 July 2024 13.15 – 17.15, the live sessions of the Neonatal Refresher Symposium
is designed to provide participants with essential knowledge and a solid foundation in basic neonatology
before delving into advanced topics during the subsequent sessions on Saturday - Sunday, 06 – 07 July 2024
in the 15th Indonesian PICUNICU Update.
HYBRID 15TH INDONESIAN PICU NICU UPDATE

To accommodate the participants, who are unable to travel, the 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update will be held
on hybrid method (online and offline) on Saturday - Sunday, 06 – 07 July 2024.
During two enchanting days, the live sessions of Pediatric ICU (PICU Sessions) and Neonatal ICU (NICU
Sessions) will fully load up on the latest advanced knowledge in acute care of pediatrics and neonatology
with the expertise of leading national and international figures. The PICU Sessions will focus on the latest
developments in pediatric critical care, while the NICU Sessions will delve into advanced topics in neonatal
care. Participants can choose to attend either PICU or NICU sessions to explore the latest advancements and
best practices in both neonatal and pediatric emergency and intensive care.
EXHIBITION
The 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update will host an offline scientific exhibition from Saturday to Sunday, 06
– 07 July 2024 including the latest technology, equipment for clinical management & research and literature.

7. Avoid using non standard abbreviations, unfamiliar terms; symbols or acronyms not easily understood by
general readers. Non-standard abbreviations must be defined in full at their first appearance
8. Use generic name of drugs. Express numbers as numerals
9. It is important to note that each image and graphic in the abstract is worth a maximum of 30 words. The
complete abstract (including text; graphics and tables) must not exceed the size limit of 17cm wide and
19cm height.
10. References are not mandatory, and the word count is counted including references.
11. The content of Abstracts is four paragraphs in UPPER CASE that briefly state as follow:
a) OBJECTIVE: State concisely why the study was conducted.
b) METHOD: Indicate the locale, sample number, principal test(s) performed, and the types of
statistical analysis employed.
c) RESULT: confirm or refute the hypothesis, supported by statistic if appropriate
d) CONCLUSION: State the effect of the study on future patient management or understanding of
basic process
12. Abstract submission is also valid for Case Report with the content of Abstract in four paragraphs in
UPPER CASE that briefly state as follow:

HOW TO SUBMIT ABSTRACT ON-LINE

1. Register as participants in the PICU NICU Update offline symposium.
2. The participant is advised to complete the registration formalities before proceeding with the
submission of Free Paper Abstracts
3. Submit your abstract as Microsoft Word attachments and submitted via the “Abstract Submission”
page here https://picunicu.org/abstract-submission/
4. Complete the Abstract Presenter data as follows:

• Registration Number:
• Mention your abstract Category upon your interest:
5. Fill in all the fields required. Then click the upload button and choose the abstract’s file from your
local computer – we strongly recommend for word-processor software – then click “Submit” to
complete the submission process.
6. Acceptable file formats are in .doc/.docx or zip file, the maximum file size is 3 MB. Please note that
uploading files may take a while depending on traffic and your internet connection.
ABSTRACT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
• Acceptance letter of abstracts will be sent to the presenter email along with the E-Poster Preparation
Guidelines no later than 10 June 2024.
• The E-Poster presentation schedule will be notified later after the PDF E-Poster submission is
completed.
WITHDRAWAL & CHANGES

• Abstract is allowed to be edited for one time only.
• The edited Abstract should be emailed to freepaper@geoconvex.com with the subject [PICUNICU]
Revised Abstract (Presenter Name) at the latest before 31 May 2024.
• Withdrawal/changes will not be possible after the above-mentioned date.
• Automatic cancellation will be made when the registration payment is not completed by 10 June
2024.
PUBLICATION
• The presenting Author must be registered as participant in order to ensure their Abstract(s) is
included in the final program. The uncommitted registration will cause the disqualification of Abstract
and will not be published accordingly. Automatic cancellation will be made when the registration
payment is not completed by 10 June 2024.
• Submission of Abstract acknowledges the acceptance for Abstract to be published in official
conference publications.
• The committee reserves the right to edit the abstract format for uniformity regarding publication.
FREE PAPER PRESENTATION

During 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update, E-Poster viewing session will be held in conjunction setting from
06 – 07 July 2024 at BICC Nusa Dua-Bali.
BEST FREE PAPER PRESENTATIONS

• All the Free Paper Presentations will be pre-sided by Panel of Juries upon schedule.
• The best paper presented will be rewarded the cash prizes and a certificate.
• The result of winning presentations will be formally announced at Closing Remark on Sunday, 07
July 2024. The winner Presenters will be further contacted by Secretariat for administrative purpose.

ON-LINE REGISTRATION
Participant of 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update must create an account under his/her personal name &
email (Sign-Up), which cannot be represented by others. The registration of personal account and data are
used to access the 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update programs and related to Certification procurement.
Log-In to re-access the Account.
ONLINE REGISTRATION
REGISTRATION FEES INCLUDE

- 15TH Indonesian PICU NICU Update’s documents & materials, along with other available digital documents
- E-Certificate with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Accreditation will be provided as
CME activity for Medical Specialists and/or General Practitioners. To claim the accreditation points (SKP),
participants are required to have an Satu Sehat SDMK account on the Plataran Sehat LMS at http://lms.
kemkes.go.id. No printed version of the certificate will be provided.
REGISTRATION STEP BY STEP

1. First timer participants are required to create a personal account. SIGN-UP by filling-in the Participant's full
name & personal email.
2. When the personal account has been created, LOG-IN with the registered email and enter the password.
Select the desired participation, proceed to check-out.
3. Complete the personal data and proceed with the transaction to complete the registration.
4. Participants can view transactions through MY ACCOUNT on their respective dashboards
5. Participants will also receive notification emails related to transactions and account information in the email.
PAYMENT CONFIRMATION
- Participants can LOGIN to re-access their account and click "Confirm Payment", and upload proof of
payment (JPG; PNG; PDF) of a maximum of 2 MB or contact the Secretariat via WhatsApp +62811882080
by sending a photo of the proof of transfer.
- It may take up to 3 working days for the Secretariat to verify the transaction. Changes in payment status can
be seen in MY ACCOUNT and/or subsequent email notifications.
PAYMENT DEADLINE
The deadline for payment is 3 days before the event held. Unpaid registration will cause the participant's name
to be deleted automatically by the system so that the participant cannot access the platform when it started.

NO ON SITE REGISTRATION & CANCELLATION

We kindly inform you that due to the transition to a new accreditation claim system by the Ministry of
Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update will not be accepting any onsite
registrations or cancellations after the deadline of 24 June 2024 at 23:59.
The access request period will be held from 01 to 03 July 2024. Participants who do not have an account at
Plataran Sehat LMS at http://lms.kemenkes.go.id must create one prior to submitting their access request.

INDONESIAN PEDIATRIC SOCIETY’ SENIOR MEMBERS REGISTRATION

Based on the regulations of the Indonesian Pediatric Society, the senior members are entitled to free
registration of symposium only by attaching a photo of their ID card and contacting the Secretariat on WhatsApp

REGISTRATION CANCELLATION & REFUND

Notification of cancellation of registration for participations must be made in writing by email to the secretariat.
The registration fee will be refunded with the following cancellation conditions:
- Cancellation one month before the event - 50% payment will be refunded
- Before 30 days & during the Event - No refund of registration fee
- Participants who have paid but did not attend the event will not get a refund for the registration fee
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Registration cancellation must be made in written and emailed to the Secretariat.
ACCOMMODATION
The following terms and conditions will be applied to accommodation:
- No Show will be applied on the first night for delayed or postpone staying that causes the loss of 1 night
room deposit made.
- In the event of materialization, the hotel will charge the full amount duration of stay upon check-out that
causes the loss of mentioned deposit made.
- Refund may only be made after the event by bank transfer. Official letter should be submitted to Secretariat
address mentioning its payer’s Bank Account.

- All Registrants can access the 15th Indonesian PICU NICU Update by LOGIN with his/her nominated

- The live sessions will use Zoom® application to live stream the presentation of the conference. Please
download and install Zoom® application on your notebook / computer.
- Even though it’s mobile friendly, using the iPad or Notebook with landscape mode is strongly recommended
