The line graph compares the production quantity of electricity derived from four different energy

sources in France over 32 years starting from 1980. It is clear that nuclear electricity generated in
France surged the most dramatically over the years analyzed. In contrast, the amount of
electricity produced by renewable sources has shown minor improvement.

Starting at the second rank in 1980, electricity produced using nuclear energy soared remarkedly
in about 25 years before it peaked at above 400 terawatt hours. After 2005, it tended to dip and
then fluctuate moderately. While nuclear electricity witnessed a considerable upsurge, the
electricity generated from renewable sources remained unchanged until a negligible rise after
2005.

Although the production amount of thermal electricity is the primary source of electricity, it
varied continuously at roughly 50 terawatt hours in a downward trend. Hydroelectricity amount
also witnessed instability but usually contrasted with thermoelectricity, except for a similar
pattern after 2005.
