Vehicles are the future means of transport. Pollution, growing demand for fuel, Global
Warming, promoting eco friendly means of transport are some of the reasons for promoting
electric vehicles. An Electric car can be a great way for you as a consumer, to save a lot of
money on gas. However, there are so many different reasons why you should invest in an
electric car in the modern day of technology examples are: no gas required, more
convenient, popularity, safe to drive, cost effective, low maintenance, have no noise of their
own which helps in reducing the amount of noise pollution. Brand’s such as Tesla, Rivian ,
Lucid motors, NIO 4NIO are the top EV companies which have already accomplished to
make EV vehicles and have sold many EV vehicles across the world but very soon we are
expecting Tesla also to join India for selling EV vehicles and make them popular in India too.
In India many other Automobile majors like Tata Motors , Hyundai , MG Motors are
focusing big time on EV’s as well and have already launched EV for the Indian consumer.
Although the evidence of the positives have become very clear, there are also some
downsides that each individual needs to consider before they decide to buy an electric car
the reason’s are : Recharge points are still in development stages not a lot of places u go to
will have electric fuelling stations.
The second reason is short driving range speed : electric cars are limited by range and speed
and u can’t use them for long journeys.
Electric cars can also be a hassle on your energy bill if you are not considering the options
carefully if u haven’t done your research into the electric car you want to purchase, then
you maybe making and unwise investment.
Most of the electric cars available today are small and 2 seated only they are not meant for
a family which obviously a consumer would think twice whether to buy or not. The market
today for electric cars is expanding, with no signs of slowing down. However the truth is that
there are fewer options to customize and choose the aesthetics of your EV.This is a fast
emerging Mobility option and in India it will take some time for people to embrace this
completely but with the Government now giving subsidies , I am sure in the times to come
each and every household will have its own EV charging station and that will be the day
when EV Mobility would have really and surely arrived in India.
