Having experience in community outreach is enjoyable because I gained a lot of new
experiences and knowledge about community outreach. However, here in our barangay in Barangay La Paz- Tubog our environment gives a social responsibility that faces a lot of lessons about the reality of life. Having a poverty-status of life that has limited access to resources in daily needs like foods and medicines makes me feel sad because we cannot experience buying anything that we want, we cannot buy foods that we like to eat and we cannot experience traveling outside our country. Yet, our community outreach in Barangay La Paz-Tubog was a multifaceted effort aimed at addressing immediate needs and long-term development. The outreach efforts included medical missions, educational workshops, and livelihood training programs. Moreover, the medical missions provided essential healthcare services, while educational workshops focused on literacy, health awareness, and vocational skills. Livelihood training programs aimed to empower community members by teaching skills like sewing, crafts, and basic entrepreneurship. The lesson that I have learned was the importance of sustainability in community outreach, which requires empowering the community with the skills and resources to improve their circumstances long-term. Furthermore, collaboration with local leaders, healthcare professionals, educators, and volunteers was crucial. My experience deepened empathy and understanding of poverty, the resilience of communities facing adversity, and the impact of collective action. The community fieldwork provided exposure to the real workplace and the ability to adapt to different situations and my community outreach experience was grateful for providing insight into the industry and improving skills, preparing individuals for future careers.
