May 2024 Children Teaching Outline Age 8-9
INTRODUCTION
Jesus said to His disciples in John 14:16. that He will ask the Father to give them another
Helper who is like Him and will abide with them forever.
A good understanding of how this Helper operates will help us as God’s children to live
and fulfill our glorious destiny in Christ, and this is what we will be learning all through
this month.
MEMORY VERSE: But the Comforter, which is The Holy Ghost, whom the Father
will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your
remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14: 26
OBJECTIVE: At the end of the Bible lesson, children should be able to say:
■ The Holy Spirit is God’s presence living inside and with us. John 14:16-17; 1
Corinthians 6:19.
Action point: The children should search for scriptures that speak about The Holy
Spirit. They should write out at least three.

Question: How do I relate with The Holy Spirit when I cannot see him?
Answer:
● We can’t see God too, but we relate with Him through reading the Bible. When
we obey God’s Word, we are relating with God, the Father, God, the Son - Jesus
Christ and God, The Holy Spirit. 1 Cor. 2:13-14 ICB
● The Holy Spirit is a Person. This means we can talk to Him, which also means,
we can relate with Him. John 14:26, 15:26
● In the physical world, we see a person and then talk to the person. In God’s
kingdom, we just talk. Why? God is everywhere - Omnipresent. So is The Holy
Spirit. This means, as long as you are saved as a child of God [believer], you can
relate with The Holy Spirit anywhere and at any time. Jer. 23:23-24
● Only believers relate with The Holy Spirit. Unbelievers can’t. Are you saved?
Acts 2:3-4
Note: Teachers should minister the baptism of The Holy Spirit after each lesson
MEMORY VERSE: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon
you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8
OBJECTIVE: At the end of the Bible lesson, children should be able to say:

Question: Does every born-again child of God have The Holy Spirit?
Answer:
● Yes, every born-again child of God has a measure of the Holy Spirit at new birth.
In fact, the Holy Spirit is the one that leads us to Christ. John 16: 8-11
● However, we must go further by getting baptized in The Holy Ghost, with
evidence of speaking in tongues. Matt. 3:11, Acts 2:1-4
● Then, we keep going by growing in The Holy Spirit. Ezekiel 47:1-5 This is where
all believers must be so as to reign in life. Rev. 5:1
Note: Teachers should minister the baptism of the Holy Spirit after each lesson.
N.B.: As much as possible, do an activity that the children can relate to, considering the
peculiarity of your locality such as
1. Drama: where the Holy Spirit helps a child to study and eventually succeed in
academics or helps the child remember what they learnt in church so that they
could obey Jesus.
2. With the use of teaching aids like a fruit basket or pictures, teachers can do a
presentation on the fruits of the Spirit and how this applies to our daily lives.
