Today lets factorise an expression x3 + x + 1.

Very Obviosly this is an increasing function so it has only one real root which
maybe rational or irrational.

f ′ (x) = 3x2 + 1 > 0∀xϵR

So if we can factorise this somehow the only way is quadratic times linear

x3 + x + 1 = (x + a)(x2 + bx + c)

after comparing you get some equations in a and b.

Now you can put α β as x in main expression = 0 and check the gotten equations
to find
√ that it actually has
√ ni rational
√ root, so now only possibility is that
x = β doing so gives us b b + b + 1 = 0

b(b + 1) = −1

or
√ −1
b=
b+1
square both sides
1
b=
(b2 + 2b + 1)
b3 + 2b2 + b − 1 = 0
now solve this equation dumbasses
