Topic: What are the primary causes of water pollution in Ho Chi Minh city?

Water is an indispensable source of human life. Today in the world there are
many countries and many big cities affected by dirty water. Vietnam is no exception.
Ho Chi Minh City is one of the most polluted cities in the country.

First, more and more industries and agriculture appeared in Ho Chi Minh
City.Factories and industrial parks every day discharge thousands of cubic meters of
untreated dirty wastewater. Many cooking oil factories every day discharge a large
amount of cooking oil into rivers, lakes, ponds and canals.According to research at
“DaiViet” newspaper, in Thanh Luong industrial zone in Ho Chi Minh City, it is
estimated that every day, there are about 5,000m3 of polluted wastewater from paper,
washing powder, dyeing factories. This affects health and human life.

Second, Ho Chi Minh City is increasingly developing economically, so it is

increasingly integrating people from different regions of the country, which also partly
affects the water environment. The population is increasing, so the demand for food,
living, travel, agricultural production is increasing.Every day wastewater discharged
into the water environment from households is increasing.People travel, entertain, eat,
and live indiscriminately throwing waste into rivers and lakes. Traffic jams every day,
the dust of the natural air also makes the water source seriously affected

The final cause that affects and causes water pollution is from medical waste.

Every day in health facilities and hospitals receive and treat cases, so there is
always a large amount of waste such as medical equipment, medical waste and
chemicals.Wastewater from X-ray printing activities, liquid radioactive substances and
samples are hazardous waste water containing a lot of toxic substances, high
concentrations of antibiotics and pathogenic bacteria.

In short, there are many causes of water pollution, and its consequences are very
serious. One of the three main causes is due to industrial plants, dense population and
medical waste. People need to be conscious and limit indiscriminate waste to create a
beautiful clean water environment and to protect human health.
