I am Arnav Prasad - a BTech CSE graduate from IIT Mandi, with 22 months of work experience

at Microsoft. In my final year at IIT Mandi, I was elected the Academic Secretary (role-wise
equivalent to the Principal Secretary of Academic Affairs at XLRI). As one of the 8 members of
the Student Council, I represented the entire cohort of 2000+ students at IIT Mandi in the
Senate: the top-most decision-making body in IITs, and liaised between students, faculty and
administration for all the academic-related student activities.

I effectively coordinated with the Dean (Academics), Dean (Students), various Associate Deans,
HODs, students and administrative staff members in order to lead and bring crucial academic
proposals to fruition - namely the "6-month internships" and "Double Major Program" which got
accepted in the Senate and resulted in higher branch inclusivity as well as a boost in the
placements by 40%, which improved the academic life and careers of students greatly. I
negotiated with the administration to make the proposals as flexible for students as possible.

I was able to manage my responsibilities as the Academic Secretary, as well as my academics

(I was top 5 in my institute), and for my proven leadership and academic excellence, I was
felicitated with the Director's Gold Medal (for which I was recommended to the Awards
Committee by the Dean (Academics)). Also, during our convocation I was nominated as the
Valedictorian.

I highly value serving the student community, listening to their concerns and raising the same
with the administration. The fact that I won the Student Council elections by a margin of ~1000
out of 1200 votes demonstrates my excellent rapport with the student community. I look forward
to serving as a CR at XLRI, for the greater good of the students, and the institute as a whole.
