Experiment – 2

Aim :
To configure hub and switch for data transmission.

Apparatus Required :
CISCO Packet Tracer Software

Procedure :
1. Open Cisco packet tracer software.
2. Take four devices and give them IP address.
3. Select pc and then click on it and select desktop and then select IP
configuration and enter IP address i.e, 10.0.0.1 .
a. Hub :
1. Take a hub by clicking on networking devices.
2. Go to the Simulation window and select ICMP by clicking on edit
filters.
3. By clicking on the message window pass message to any two
devices.
4. Hub does the broadcasting of the message.
b. Switch :
1. 1. Take a switch by clicking on networking devices.
2. Go to the Simulation window and select ICMP by clicking on edit
filters.
3. By clicking on the message window pass message to any two
devices.
 4. Switch transfer the message to the desired destination.

Result :
