All ofthe followingchecks& testsshouldbe executed
duringcommissioning.

4.1 Test C¡se l: AC BusbarsEarth Fault Check

With ref'erenceto the approp¡iated¡awings,openthe relevantisolatorsandremovethe
relevantfusesthatisolatethebusbarsfrom thecontrol,monitoring,SCRstack,andindication
circuitry.
Checkthecontinuityi¡tegdty ofthe busbarsAom theincomerisolatorto thebusba¡send,
prior to commencing
thefollowingmeggertcsts.
Theresultsofthe followi¡g testsshouldbe recorded
on QAP-22testsheets.
Thesetestsheets
shouldbe signedandretainedaspartofthe formaltestrcco¡d.
. Meggerbetwe€ntheredphaseafldearth,usinga 1000Vtestsource.
o Meggerbetweentheyellowphaseandcarth,usinga 1000Vtestsource.

Theresultsofthe followingtestsshouldbe recordedon QAP-22testsheets.

. Meggerbetweenthe +ve busbarandea¡th,usinga 500V test source.
. Meggerbetweenthe-ve busbarandea¡th,usinga 500Vtestsou¡ce.

4.3 TestCrse 3: C¡libration & Testingof the Earth F¡ult Card

Thistestcaseshouldonly be executed on thesuccessfulcompletionoftcst cases1 & 2.
. Ensurethat all the fusesremovedin test cases1 & 2 a¡ere-instated.
. Ensu¡ethatthe3-phaseacmainsisolatoris open.
. Switch the ea¡thfault selectorswitchto its acposition.
. Veriry that no voltageis p¡esenton the acbusbars,prior to continuing.
. Connecta 2A fuse in seriesbetweenthe red phaseandearth.
. Closethe mainsisolator andvedry that the red phaseearthfault indicationdoescor¡ectly
reflect the eafh fault being presenton the red phase.

. Adjust the ac earthfault potentiomete¡until the meterdisplaysa 100%reading.
Repeatthe abovestepsfor both the yellow andblue phases.
. Ensulethat the 3-phaseacmainsisolatoris open.
. Switch the €artht'aults€lectorswitchto its dc position.
. Verify that ¡o voltag€is p¡esenton the dc busba¡s,prior to continuing.
. Connecta 2A fusein s€riesbetweenthe +ve busbaxandearth.
. Ensurethat the motor a¡matwecontactorsa¡eopenandinhibited.
. Connecta high impodancoload ac¡ossth€ dc link.
. Closethemeinsisolator.
. Rampup the throttle to Approximately 300V
. Adjust the dc earthfault potentiometeruntil the mete¡displaysa 100%rcading.
. Rampthe throttle back down to 0V,
Repeatthe abovestepsfor the -Ve busbar.
Severaliterationsofthe abovecalibrationstepsmayberequired,asboththeac & da
calibrationstepsdetailedabove,havea degreeofinter-dependence.

4.4 Test C¡ce4: Te¡thg of the Earth Fsult Trip PLC Input
This testcascshouldonlyb€ executed on the successful
completionoftest case3.
. Ensurethatthe3-phaseacmainsisolatoris opon.
. Switchthe earthfault selectorswitchto its acposition.
. Veriry that no voltageis p¡esenton the ac busba$,p¡ior to continuing.
. Conn€cta 2A fuse in serieswith a decadebox betweenthe red phaseandearth.
r Closethe mainsisolator andveriry that the red phaseearthfault indicationdoesco¡rectly
reflect the fault being present.
. Adjust the decadebox until the meterdisplals a 30% reading.
. Adjust th€ trip level potentiometerso that it tlips at a 30% reading.
r Verifu that the PLC driven eaÍh fault indicationilluminatesat a 30% ¡eading.
