4. Sample answers
Topic 1:
Describe a city that you have visited.
You should say:
 Where it is
 When you went there
 What you did there
 - And explain why you like it
I am going to talk about London, the capital of England. I have just recently visited this city,
and I have very good memories of the place. As you may have known, the city is an
economical and financial center. To get to London, you have to take a 12-hour flight from
Hanoi, because it’s located quite far from here. The moment I set foot in London, the first
thing I noticed was how modern the facilities were. I was shocked by the underground
system and the architecture. Although the city wasn’t so beautiful, it has its own appeal. On
the days following my arrival, I got the chance to go sightseeing and visit famous landmarks
like the Big Ben or the Tower Bridge. I was amazed by how majestic these constructions
were, and how good their conditions were. Later, I got myself a double decker bus ticket to
tour the city. Then I fully realize the beauty of London. The skyscrapers were impressive,
and even ordinary houses there were charming. At the end of my trip, I was in love with
London and I didn’t want to go home. All in all, I look forward to visiting it soon in the
future.
Topic 2:
Describe a modern building.
You should say:
 Where it is
 What it is used for
 When you go there
 And why you like/dislike it
Well, for this topic, I guess I’ll talk about Lotter tower, which is a building in Hanoi. The
building is located right in the center of the capital, so it is extremely approachable. It has
been situated here since 2020 and throughout its lifespan, the building has been really
famous. To begin with, the building has a very impressive design, which resembles a torch
reaching for the sky. The outer side of the building is remarkable. Also, the interior is
thoroughly planned. It consists of a shopping mall and a residential complex. I remembered
that when I first stepped inside the building, the lighting, the flooring and the furniture were
so stunning that I was shocked. To be honest, I couldn’t be prouder of Lotte Tower and I
believe it will remain a significant landmark of the country in the future.
Topic 3:
Describe a place that can be good to relax (not home)
You should say:
 Where the place is
 what it is like
 how do you spend time there
 and explain why you think it is a good place for relaxation

Well, I would like to start by talking about a seaside resort in Phu Quoc which I has just
recently been to this spring. This place is perfect for anyone wanting a break from the hustle
and bustle of city life. So, for some background information, this place is known as Paradise
resort, and it is located in the center of Phu Quoc Island. You may not know this, but Phu
Quoc is renowned as the Pearl of the Eastern Sea, so you can imagine the view there to be
great. To begin with, it was designed to look like an European castle, looking over the beach.
In addition, it had nice customer service, catering for every need. Basically, the place
provided the perfect conditions for anyone looking to relax. In terms of recreational
activities, the place possessed services ranging from spa days, a gym to a private beach. As a
result, residents can enjoy a perfect packaged holiday. To sum up, I think Paradise resort is
a true hidden gem and is definitely worth a visit.
