The bar chart depicts the proportion of men and women who committed 8 different types of offences

between 2008 and 2009. The y-axis indicates the percentage of individuals, up to 40% maximum, while
the x-axis shows particular categories of crime: Physical Violence, robbery, burglary, theft, copyright-
related violations, criminal damage, drug offences and other crimes. Overall, the numbers of people who
caused non-verbal issues and thievery are relatively high for both genders compared to other categories
of offences.

Looking closer for details, the proportion of people who acted violently on other person’s body stood
the highest on average, with over 30%, in regards of their sex. Furthermore, male and female thieves
come second with 20% of men criminals and women being more than half of that. On the other hand,
robbery along with fraud & forgery are the least committed crimes, at just less than half of 5% for both
sex. Interestingly, female criminals’ percentages are noticeably higher than male’s in non-verbal
offences and thievery, 2 most common crimes of the categories; with copyright violations being the
additional. However, in other types of offence, men held the majority with total average of roughly 10%,
specifically in robbery and burglary where male criminals doubled to that of female.
